Steve-O gone woke? https://www.complex.com/pop-culture...els-breast-implant-surgery-transgender-person Steve-O was trying to figure out a way to pull off the joke until he met a transgender person working at a grocery store. He asked the person their thoughts on the joke and the person reportedly told him it was distasteful and not a good idea. "The part where I deliberately went out to trick people into thinking that I was a woman and then fooling them, and then kind of celebrating the idea of hate towards [trans people] -- that was a [bad] thing," said Steve-O before explaining what the person told him about their experiences being transgender. "[The clerk] described how they weren't allowed to use the bathroom at their place of work, that there were like maybe 28 states in the country that would arrest them for having an ID that said female on it," Steve-O added. "That there were politicians making concerted efforts to lock them up in internment camps. It was really pretty heartbreaking, the level of oppression that was described." He continued, "Framed like that, I thought about it in a way that I hadn't before, where you know, wow, maybe it's not all fun and games. Especially the pranks."
Just shit all around, especially the phrasing. Blaire Fleming has also been playing NCAA women’s vball for 4 years now.
watching now and it’s so good. the oklahoma scenes were so heartwarming and the texas stuff so heartbreaking will ferrell seems like a such a great dude
on wednesday, the supreme court will hear US v Skrmetti as part of the biden admin fighting against states (tennessee in this case) attempting to ban gender affirming care for minors. I don't think anyone expects this court to defend the rights of trans people so things will almost certainly get worse for all of us. banning gender affirming care for minors is the first step to banning it for everyone and will also be used to weaken the limited protections that exist for abortion, ivf, and birth control. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/12/03/us/transgender-health-care-bans-trans
I'm going to be honest and say I'm pretty ignorant on this stuff. Can you give me cliffs? Is TN banning parents that want to help their kids with say hormone blockers from doing that?
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/12/03/us/transgender-health-care-bans-trans i meant to link the original article but yes. doctors are not allowed to provide minor patients with puberty blockers or any kind of hormonal therapy and similar bans exist in 25 other states
Thank you, and that's insane. I feel awful for the parents and kids affected. it's just cruel to not allow families to make decisions for themselves.
i might have to start importing and compounding my own estradiol injections but nothing is going to stop us from being trans
or idk, maybe leave the questions to the parents and Dr's instead of old politicians? Chief Justice John Roberts, a closely watched vote in the transgender medicine case, suggested that the court should leave questions of “medical nuances” to the states, a troubling sign for the minors challenging Tennessee’s ban. Roberts posed a series of questions for Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar focused on how the questions raised by Tennessee case were different from other cases concerning sex-based policies. Those previous cases, he said, weren’t “intensely affected by medical considerations.” “If that’s true, doesn’t that make a stronger case for us to leave those determinations to the legislative bodies, rather than try to determine them for ourselves,” Roberts said, echoing arguments made by Tennessee. He described this dispute as different from previous legal disputes over policies that set different drinking ages based on sex, or different adoption rules based on sex.
What is appropriate medical care can’t be allowed to be determined by state boundaries. The appropriate medical care for a patient is based on our collective knowledge of the science. The Supreme Court continues to deny the existence of expertise because they’re just a bunch of hacks that make everything up and think everybody else must be doing the same.
