I'm an old school T1 players. I was sad when it imploded due to severe hacks and of course T2 was being released very soon after. It was a beautiful game, howerver it just wasn't Tribes1. The physics required for skiing across the map wrere completely different. There were 2-3 other varients that I tried as well that all failed miserably as well. The Question! - Is Tribes:Ascend going to be the holy grail of PC shooting again? NOt since Quake Live had we had a true team based fast past shooter that really had the legs that Starseige Tribes did. My Initial Take: I love the skiing. The physics seem to be right back where they should be. I like the classses, I love the F2P P/P model is ingenious. Lots of the classic players are QQ'ing because it's not T2 made over....I harken then to look over their shoulder at the T3 and vengence that are complaioning about similar things. In Summation: it's the best of many worlds. It doesn't cost 20-60$ to play... its FREE... b ut you watch, they WILL get those donations in the form of $$$ to fund new gear of class specializations etc. We may be on to something wit this one.
