Old Leather Style... New Leather Style... New ones are not bad but I just loved the look of the old style leather.
Try switching back and forth My old KR and my wife's suv are both console shifters, while my work provided truck is a column shifter It never fails I reach for the wrong place
for some reason my wife’s highlander never bothers me. drove my partners f150 a few weeks ago for a quick trip to the store and that was rough.
The old leather required a lot of maintenance to keep from cracking/wearing out, and probably didn't work near as well with the heating/cooling features.
At the dealer now and they are trying to sell me a truck I don’t want lol. Currently playing the waiting game, but this is actually a break from the kids and I’ve got all damn day.
I don’t think the guys here appreciated me pulling out another dealers offer that was 12k lower after they told me there was not way they could go lower.
Anyone have insight on the 2.7L in F-150s? I don’t really tow, and I found an 18 I really like with one.
I loved my 2.7. It had some punch, not as much as the 3.5 but the aluminum body helped. My 3.5 was still the steel. Oil filter location is awesome too. I don’t tow either; just family hauler. Plenty of power for that and i got about 25 mpg driving to work (rural backroads) and could stretch 26/27 highway on cruise
Wife has the STX. It’s got the 2.7. Decent power and great gas mileage. It’s like 24 highway and 20 city. It’s a great engine. Only thing to consider is they used a plastic oil plug and pan in a lot of the 17s and some of the 18s. Might be worth looking at. Wife’s truck has the plastic plug so I just bought an extra in case it cracks. Was like 12 bucks. Other than that the truck is fantastic. It’s held up nice. They did a great job with the eco boost engine.
Awesome. This is the one I’m looking it. It’s loaded with tons of options, but they’re not willing to budge much on the price over text and keep saying it’s “below KBB” (it’s priced right at fair market price not including the extended range tank). https://www.fusionmotorspdx.com/details/used-2018-ford-f-150/64394130
Nice truck tell them $33k. I bought my 9 month old 2012 lariat with max options for $28k. Turns out internet guy listed it wrong bc lariat and a few other trims shared the same starting digits of VIN. I agreed on numbers before ever showing up, and salesman is going through paperwork and says that’s not an FX2. I said nope but the deals the deal. He said shit we just lost money. I bought another truck from them later to help help them.
So the online shopping and doing my homework was such a game changer. Their tune totally changed once I knee capped them. They told me 68k was the best they could do (after starting at 70ish) and then I showed them the receipts for 56-57k from other dealers. So they basically matched the other dealer at 57k. I’m looking at the price sheet and noticed that the truck they want me to buy didn’t have dual sun roofs, fx4 package, and spray in bedliner like the competitors truck. I asked them why I would buy their truck when I could get more for the same price. Crickets. They finally give me 55k out the door. Told them I would decide which one I wanted and call them back. Offered me another $500 off to commit then. No thanks. one thing I really want is the adaptive cruise and neither of those trucks have it. Just went online and found a dealer that has the exact same truck as the one for 57k but with the cruise for a price of... 55k out the door. Looks like some massive dealership outside of Charlotte. Going to give them a call in the morning and see what I can scrap together. could rant for an hour about all the stupid tricks they tried to pull on me but my favorite line was “you walked in the door looking for a king ranch, so 10k doesn’t matter to you”
High volume dealers definitely move more. When I bought ranger local dealer said nope; high volume dealer beat them by $3k and I never had to go to the lot and gave me loan% I wanted without credit check.
after snooping around this was my guess. so I’m going to say they probably won’t come off that original asking price much at all?
that’s why I‘m waiting until probably Monday to start playing the e-mail game with salesmen - I figure if they get desperate to move a vehicle, it’ll be the end of the month next week
It actually infuriated me test driving. I felt like I had dicks for hands. My friend acts like i would get used to it. I'm like, It looks like shit. Feels like shit. And without a doubt will break on me.
got them to drop it as much as they were going to and ended up pulling the trigger on this today. Gonna pick it up on Monday. I want to get a canopy for my dogs. Any recs for brands? Preferably one that can be put on/taken off easily.
I’m seriously considering picking this up. Ended up going down a rabbit hole and found this guy: https://www.racingjunk.com/Ford/184...seller_type=&order=price-low-high&np_offset=4 Someone could make the argument it’s not worth $12,000. I wouldn’t. But someone could.
Must be that time of year. I was looking at an F250 today with the old 7.3. 170k mi. Guy wants 10 grand. I don't need it, but damn it's a nice looking older truck.
I've got a 2000 7.3 with 450,000 miles on it Fucking love that truck, it currently spends all its life hooked to the boat trailer and hasn't been inspected or registered since 2018, but I wouldn't hesitate to hop in it and drive across the country (after putting new tires on it that is)
Let's give "realtors" the benefit of the doubt and just lump "real estate agents" in with car salesmen.
So I was near the dealer with the king ranch today. Figured I’d give it a look when no ones there just to see if it was worth going any further. Found this scuff on the passenger rear wheel molding. Everything else looks good on the outside
Carfax showed minor damage on right side, but salesman said fully repaired (obviously not). I have minor damage too not repaired which I have disclosed with pictures. What do I say to them because I know he’ll text tomorrow or Wednesday by latest. Here’s a photo of my damage, which will cost more to repair but was given to them up front
I hate and love this thread all at the same time. My neighbor got the damn exact ram 1500 I was internally buying. Color trim everything. My first truck was a 97 ram, so I think I'll prolly go back to a ram when we get a new truck. New SUV is priority 1 right now tho
My other thing is that I don't "need" a 4x4 anymore. They typically look better to me and as someone who uses it a good bit growing up I always want one just in case. But I drive in the city and throw a kayak in my truck. I think one day I'll have a boat, but nothing that needs a 4x4.
My first truck was a 2wd reg cab s-10 manual trans with no positraction. Had some adventures getting around.
My only thing I would need 4x4 is driving on the beach, and come to think of it, that means I'll probably get a 4x4. Thanks
I had the Mazda with the 2.3L. Needed a head start to pass someone up hill with a passing lane, but that little thing never had any issues.
