There's far worse than 4chan boyo Do think in this current climate being for restricted free speech is extra crazy though. Folks getting black bagged for protesting.
I'm aware. We may not be here if we didn't have misinformation posted under anonymous handles and bots for the last 20 years.
I used to have mod powers on an old Dolphins message board. There was some annoying Pats fan who was always trolling and kinda towing a fine line with saying bannable stuff. I could see his email address and the part before the @ was pretty distinct and weird so I threw it into Google to see what I'd see. I found his Stormfront account. Didn't really have to convince anyone to be on board with banning him anymore because when I mentioned it he sketched out and deleted everything.
Did you just post is account to the board and ask everyone if they want to associate with this person? Because that would've been very fucking cool
This fucking dweeb in the White House was using multiple aliases to talk about what a cocksman Donald Trump was to multiple tabloids in NYC during the 80s.
we probably still have some users signed up with identifiable information, but have never had to do that lol. I’ve changed emails for more than a few people over the years. it is what it is
I can't remember if I linked the account but I know I replied to some comment of his with something like "Why do you post on Stormfront complaining about the lack of zeal in your fellow white supremacists and then you come here and just pussy foot around it?" He asked what I was talking about about. I told him that he knew exactly what I was talking about about and asked him if it bothered him every week watching black men who are richer and more successful than he'll ever be. Then he vanished into the ether
Once I did that, another guy found another board he posted on where he openly questioned the accuracy of Holocaust statistics
Stanford joins their cunty brothers https://stanforddaily.com/2025/04/15/levin-martinez-back-harvard-president/ “Harvard’s objections to the letter it received are rooted in the American tradition of liberty, a tradition essential to our country’s universities, and worth defending,” Levin and Martinez wrote in a statement that Levin shared with The Daily. “America’s universities are a source of great national strength, creating knowledge and driving innovation and economic growth,” they also wrote. “This strength has been built on government investment but not government control. The Supreme Court recognized this years ago when it articulated the essential freedoms of universities under the First Amendment as the ability to determine who gets to teach, what is taught, how it is taught, and who is admitted to study.”
I remember someone on this board referencing a landmark near my grandmother’s house, who I was taking care of at the time, and I don’t believe in coincidences. It was very early on in my time here, but I never forgot. It was in a thread I frequented and was so random.
a cautionary tale. Trump probably gets broad compliance if he didn’t keep hammering Columbia after they surrendered.
Right, was Colmbia having cops storm the campus to brutally beat children protesting a genocide not a big red flag????
You may be right, but that horse has long been out of the barn. It's one of those theoretical exercises that just doesn't matter anymore. I don't think anyone honestly felt that way before there was some hindsight guiding the thought. By then, it was too late.
Oh yea, I don't disagree. It's a global issue too, you'd have to have all countries on board. Just not remotely possible. I just think we'd be better off if you got assigned an internet license at birth. One log in for anything on the internet and it's attached to you and publicly known. No hiding behind a keyboard. We'd be so much better off for it.
Unless things have changed in the past 10+ years since I ever browsed it, 4chan never required you to sign up! That was the whole point, everyone was anonymous unless you created a captcha to validate your identity.
Recalling a Conan commencement from 10-15 years ago where he poked fun at the ivys individually. I think Columbia and Cornell were “who gives a shit about them”.
I'm gonna pay the most corrupt mod in here to get your info and send you a poop-o-gram. Do you prefer elephant or gorilla?
The 4chan I remember as a kid was edgy but not serious, but the edginess over time like made the people actually more and more racist. It was like something being spoken into existence. I haven't looked at the place in probably 15 years though
It was very racist but there was a tiny tiny bit of moderation. This was such a big deal that people had to go to 8chan to post the most vile stuff you'd ever see outside of outright white nationalist websites.
I'm 36. I remember it being more bullshitting but definitely a lot of porn. I'm not saying it was good. I just read it occasionally, I never made any post
This was also when I was like 15 and I was like "holy shit I can't believe people are saying this" more than thinking it was cool. I don't know, kids that age are stupid
