won it then, we just didn't know it. great book (embed doesn't seem to be working on my side -- "how the south won the civil war" is the book)
Joe Biden didn't solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict so I had no choice but to vote for Donald Trump
Don't get me wrong, there are absolutely true believers to the cause of mass deportation, but the people that are searching "who is donald trump" on google ON election day that represent a large portion of the average voting population aren't voting with that as the primary reason.
you know what, i find his honesty refreshing. horrifyingly incorrect, but i have more respect for people who have the balls to just say the thing instead of gaslighting and trolling while winking at the camera
I have decided that the "democrats turned their back on working class" is why they lost line is complete shit. Dem polices are better for working class. But most working class think the biggest threat to their well being is a girl playing on their son's t-ball team. Fuck em
I was thinking, you know Trump can't get along with ANYONE. He's such a fucking ass hole, no one can or will work for him long. So whatever "cabinet" he cobbles together won't last long. And lol at RFK or Elmo lasting.
RFK is not going to listen to anyone. The dude is just going to be blazing his own trail straight to idiocracy and he will completely ignore whatever Trump says. He is a Kennedy failson, who is the last "authority" figure he gave a fuck about?
it’s a difference without a distinction when people are deported. It won’t matter when they try to get birth right citizenship stripped away. It won’t matter when the trans community is under attack.
Trump only cares about himself. Do what he says, you're fine. Don't make him look bad, you're fine. He's a lazy lazy person. His administration will be all yes men or people like RFKjr doing shit he doesn't care about. He'll be the avatar, but his administration is absolutely running the show, and they're all equally terrible.
99% of grindset dentists who are their own bosses approve of removing the fluoride. #Entrepreneur DirtBall
this line of thinking is why dems have been and will continue to be catastrophic failures. people don't give a shit about trans people, they give a shit about their money. the right is better at making promises as blaming it on the left when they don't deliver. bernie would have wiped the floor with trump every single fucking time. period. because he knows how to talk to working class people. not all working class are fascists, the fascists just know how to tell them things will be better for THEM.
Theres almost no chance they repeal the filibuster. Its already gone for judges which is what they really care about. If no filibuster they'd have to actually do all the psycho culture stuff they run on. No chance they throw it away. Especially when the judiciary can do all their dirty work for them.
I'm a 2 time Bernie voter but I thought that was a really unnecessary knife in the back and it's not even true
I'm not saying to be callous to the outcome, I'm simply saying once it happens, the reaction to it won't be universal approval like you're saying the election confirmed. It didn't happen last time either when migrant children were being put in cages and people turned out in droves to vote MAGA candidates out of office to the point where Trump went pretty much 0 for on every candidate he supported. It doesn't address the underlying issue of those that are being hurt by the stupidity of the average voter like you and your wife/child are I know, god knows it doesn't help me either when I'm dealing with an immigration issue in my own family right now, but its still better than if it DID meet with universal approval. 2 years of vileness followed by a sweeping change from those stupid people realizing what actually happened then followed with GOP being out of the white house is better than 4 years of unchecked vileness followed by 4 more years of unchecked vileness.
That’s assuming that the Republicans don’t put guardrails preventing them from losing power and turn elections into post-democratic fixed coronations like in Russia, Türkiye, Hungary, China, Israel, etc. I think those things are completely on the table.
They definitely care about trans people. I know lots of people who have never met a trans person but definitely think about them often. GOP wouldn't have gone all in on trans ads if their data didn't indicate people care. It is completely ridiculous considering it is such a small portion of the population but thats how boogeymen work.
By the way this is a democracy baby, this is what the people want, this is what the people get. Fair is fair!
I don’t think I said that. I think it will be slugs for salt or leopards eating my face thing. Once the consequences of the actions come to bare some will regret their decision. But, I’m also saying that it wont matter. My son’s father in law is undocumented and if I had to bet I’d bet both of his brother in laws voted for Trump. I’m sure they don’t think their dad will be deported because of their votes but if he does it won’t matter what they thought. That’s what I mean by a difference without a distinction.
One message: Trans people aren't real don't worry we will make this complicated subject go away The other message: LEARN about trans people, once you LEARN you won't care so much Average voter: Did they just try to learn me? WTF I ain't voting for that
They'll spend the first couple years blaming Biden/Harris for Trump's inevitable failures, then they'll have a D congress to blame.
yeah man, people simply don't hate as much when they're less miserable. the anti-trans ad worked because people are miserable and the framing was "your money is doing this". they don't hate trans people, they think trans people are weird. they were told to hate trans people because money and sports/bathrooms were the road that made the connection. polls have consistently shown the populace think trans people are over-villainized.
My working theory is that the average American is, quite frankly, an utter moron. So they voted for the candidate most like them, whether they were aware of it or not. that and the republicans just stoking fears of “the other” made Trump a perfect candidate. Americans are far too comfortable living in their own little bubble of ignorance and I’m not sure the democrats can pierce that given how the GOP has so clearly won the cultural and propaganda war. gonna take multiple generations to have a population with enough media literacy and critical thinking to get back to where we all thought the country was. eat Arby’s.

I really thought only the boomers would be swayed by Der Sturmer style propaganda from the GOP, but alas the bros eat it up too.
I think there is more to the anti-trans bullshit than we realize. There is a reason they spent so much money on those commercials - I fear that it actually worked on a lot of otherwise well adjusted people.
Idk if you noticed but most people are definitely not miserable. They are annoyed some prices went up at times in the last few years, maybe the burrito taxi prices going up is really starting to annoy them, but this isn't exactly Weimar Germany. When your starting point is "well the country is in ruins, no wonder they want a scapegoat!" you are already lost to the RW propaganda machine. Obviously everyone has a different experience and some people are miserable, but its not like we just went through the great depression.
A lot of dumb white people clearly feel threatened by anyone who doesn’t look or act like they do since the Obama presidency. They hate gay people. Despise POC. Think the trans community represents American “wokeness”. They want to erase anything they perceive to be an outcome of the Obama years. Fox has always been a shit pit. But whooo boy did it get really fucked up when this country elected a black man. They’ve gotten more emboldened and crazier since.
Last night my buddy in LA said the DA was placed there by George Soros to cause chaos in LA. I said, “Come the fuck on.” He replied, “Go look it up! Research it!”
Had a fun conversation with a friend in PA who voted Trump this morning about how tariffs are worked around by just purchasing US assets. Don’t think he knew that Pennsylvania’s own US Steel was owned by the Japanese now.
No D was going to win this election. The flips weren’t completely ideology or messaging. People are feeling economic pain, so they voted against the current party holding the presidency. At least, that’s what I need to believe.
Sorry, no, I need there to be another 2004 tier housing bubble so my wife and I can sell ours and move out of this country. HTH.
