Brand-new polling from YouGov out this AM finds Trump's actions re: LA underwater. Double-digit disapproval on sending in Marines. This should be a reality check for those people arguing the protests inherently help Trump bc his immigration approval # is positive. today.yougov.com/topics/polit...— G Elliott Morris (@gelliottmorris.com) 2025-06-10T13:49:04.220Z I think the persistence of that view of how the protests will affect opinion is based on a fundamental and enduring misperception of how and why the civil rights-era protests were successful.— Judah Grunstein (@judah-grunstein.bsky.social) 2025-06-10T17:24:14.781Z
Need our MAGA patriots complaining about people flying the Mexican flag to square it with people flying the confederate flag
I’m seeing a lot of social posts from politically agnostic people in support of LA. Anecdotal but I don’t think this is doing what they think it is with people under 65.
these people act like avoiding processed foods is unlocking some higher level of being and intelligence. plenty of normal people have been doing that for most of their lives without making it their entire personality. I eat consciously and healthy, suck it LIBS
Wasn’t sure where else to put this, but insert anchor man “I don’t believe you” gif https://www.wlox.com/2025/06/10/mississippi-ranked-16th-education-according-national-report/
High graduation rates does not measure quality of education. All that means is they lowered grad requirements or just passed them to get them out. Individually state tests as well, mean nothing.
One thing i saw recently was that mississippi took efforts to not advance children to the next grade if they didnt pass, which is good. That it bounced them 30+ ranks is laughable, tho
I’d assume Miss is a lot like Texas in that you have kids graduation high school who can’t read on a third grade level and immediately suffer in college.
This is wrong. RFK Jr. is the first person in history to suggest eating healthier and exercising helps you avoid some diseases.
Trump officials have concluded that President Donald Trump has the authority to entirely abolish protected areas set aside as national monuments by past presidents, according to a legal opinion released Tuesday by the Department of Justice. https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2025/06/10/trump-abolish-national-monuments/
would love to see a future Democratic president seize golf courses and build affordable housing on them or turn them into public lands everyone can legitimately enjoy
https://gizmodo.com/feds-reportedly-sent-a-predator-drone-to-spy-on-la-protesters-2000613964 Ya if youre going to these you may want to just wear a mask the whole time until youre indoors. Probably an invertible hoody too that you can switch when youre out of sight
ignore the account spreading this as ragebait but she explains the context about the protests better than any other English cable news journalist. I don’t even think MSNBC is framing it this way and too many elected Dems like Klobuchar and a few others are being complete cowards about the protests. All of their messaging is terrified of broad months old polling. The CNN panel looked dumbfounded.
I gotta stop following this shit. Might switch to just checking headlines and not digging deep into articles or refreshing this thread every 30 mins at work because jeez it seems everything is falling apart
Allegedly the units sent this out, that soldiers who disagreed politically could ask to be excused from attending the speech. Army didn't want the optics of having people not applaud the President.— ex-Lethality Jane (@lethalityjane.bsky.social) 2025-06-10T21:05:34.854Z
i think (with no actual evidence) that with how quickly things are deteriorating that we should have a pretty firm idea on if we are gonna maybe get through this by the end of the summer. just seems like we’re barreling towards a tipping point one way or the other this summer
A smarter trump would retreat now and slowly blackbag protesters over the next couple months. But he wants to shell US cities, and Fox has spent decades radicalizing chuds to want it for additional reasons besides "they dont like trump". Trump wants the spectacle

polling by YouGov and Trafalgar in the throes of this story are not going to provide any clarity about how the majority of the country feels about the deployment of federal military personnel against protestors
The most dangerous states for young adults revealed in new study Tennessee is the most dangerous state for young adults, with 14.5% of 19-25-year-olds uninsured, as well as 409.4 aggravated assault victims and 453.07 injuries and illnesses per 100,000 people in this age group. New Mexico and Arkansas rank second and third, respectively. New Hampshire ranks as the least dangerous state for young adults. Spoiler A new study has revealed the most dangerous states for young adults, with Tennessee ranking number one. Florida personal injury attorneys at Injured in Florida analyzed the percentage of people who are uninsured, the number of aggravated assault crime victims per 100,000, and the number of non-fatal injuries and illnesses per 100,000, all for people within the 19-25 age group. For each state, they calculated an index score out of 100 using these factors to determine the most dangerous states for young adults. Tennessee ranks number one, with an index score of 60.74/100. In the state, 14.5% of people aged 19-25 are uninsured. The number of aggravated assault crime victims in this age group was 409.4 per 100,000 in 2023, the second highest in the country. On top of this, the number of non-fatal injuries and illnesses per 100,000 in this age group in 2022 was 453.07. New Mexico is second, with an overall score of 59.69/100. Out of all young adults aged 19-25, 13.3% are uninsured. The state had the highest number of aggravated assault victims against young adults in the US in 2023, at 472.18 per 100,000. Its number of non-fatal injuries and illnesses per 100,000 aged 19-25 was 332.15 in 2022. Arkansas takes third place, with a score of 58.31/100. In Arkansas, 15.1% of 19-25-year-olds are uninsured. The number of aggravated assault crime victims aged 19-25 was 383.88 per 100,000 in 2023. This is the third highest rate in the US. Additionally, the number of non-fatal injuries and illnesses in this age group reached 423.02 per 100,000 in 2022. Texas is next, with an index score of 57.51/100. As of 2022, the state has the highest percentage of uninsured young adults in the country, at 26.9%. There were also 202.95 aggravated assault victims per 100,000 people aged 19-25 in 2023, as well as 319.59 non-fatal injuries and illnesses per 100,000 in this age group in 2022. Nevada rounds off the top five, with an index score of 56.54/100. In this state, 18.4% of young adults aged 19-25 are uninsured. There were 217.7 aggravated assault crime victims per 100,000 people aged 19-25 in 2023. In addition to this, the state saw 695.27 non-fatal injuries and illnesses per 100,000 young adults in 2022, the fifth highest in the nation. South Carolina places sixth, with an index score of 53.87/100, followed by Georgia, with a score of 53/100. Montana ranks eighth, scoring 51.16/100. Oklahoma and Kansas rank ninth and tenth, with index scores of 50.22/100 and 50.15/100, respectively. On the other hand, New Hampshire is the least dangerous state for young adults, with an index score of 15.90/100. In the state, 7.2% of people aged 19-25 are uninsured. It also had the lowest overall number of aggravated assault victims per 100,000 people in this age group in 2023, at 43.94. A spokesperson from Injured in Florida has commented, “This research has revealed some eye-opening insights into some of the dangers young adults face in certain states. The ages of 19 to 25 can already be a challenging time in a person’s life, and facing risks simply because of where you live makes it even harder. “A lack of medical insurance can leave people unable to afford necessary medical care, while aggravated assault rates shed light on the threat to personal safety for people in this age group. Non-fatal injuries and illnesses can disrupt things like education, career plans and daily life, creating potential setbacks during a critical time of growth. “Steps we can take to start making these states safer include expanding access to affordable healthcare for young adults, as well as investing in public safety by improving surveillance in high risk areas for example. “By addressing these issues, we can help ensure that young adults have the support and security they need to thrive during this pivotal time of life.” If using these insights, please link credit to https://www.injuredinflorida.com/. Methodology Data for each indicator was gathered from the sources listed above. All indicators were transformed using the Yeo-Johnson transformation if they were not already adequately normally distributed. The data was min-max scaled from 0 to 10, where 0 and 10 represent the worst and best values present in the data, not the worst and best possible. Because all indicators were negative, they were subtracted from 10 to invert their scoring. An overall index score out of 100 was generated using all of the indicators and used to rank all 50 states. Full ranking of the most dangerous states for young adults aged 19-25 The most dangerous states for young adults revealed in new study Note: For some states, data for the number of non-fatal injuries and illnesses in 2022 was unavailable. To calculate the index score for these states, missing values were imputed using the overall mean value for each indicator. WPS! FUCK TEXAS! oh snap
These guys posted a Trump +11 approval poll a few weeks go which is a wild outlier. They might only be polling West Virginia or something
my guess is this all fizzles out and everyone forgets it happened in a month but an extended military occupation of an American city is almost certain to be very unpopular particularly if anyone is killed/badly injured
It’s kinda remarkable no one has died yet. And lest we forget, half the reason for this escalation from the feds is to distract from last weeks Trump/Musk fight.
the majority of the country wont care these people literally tried to overthrow an election and it didnt hurt them in the slightest
It did! Just not 3 years later with a constant, never ending volume of whinging about woke and mild inflation
But the President of the United States can share a post saying Joe Biden was assassinated and replaced by robots in 2020 and it's just a Monday
