That movie is to flash floods what Howie Long's classic Firestorm is to forest fires. Just brilliant.
But I thought the purpose of all this immigration reform was not to be racist and restrict incoming peoples of other races and ethnicities but to ensure we only get the best and brightest
Jennifer Bendery forgot to add this part: Elizabeth Warren: We need to break up tech monopolies Newsroom: Elizabeth Warren wants to implement policies to kill private industries.
I am torn on this. My daughter is applying to colleges now and competition is fierce. As much as I like being an attractive nation to others due to our values and higher education, I also don't want that to be at the expense of our own citizens who are struggling to get into quality colleges at reasonable cost. That said, I realize that is not the intent of the post.
Brad Parscale is a total loser? Seriously, who would ever think we would see the day where a President is using 4th grade bullying talk publicly.
I wonder if it’s a coincidence that the prices of education, doctors, dentists and lawyers have risen the same rate since 1950 hmm really makes you think
Haven’t you learned anything? Take a few pics of her pole vaulting or playing quidditch, bribe a Coach here or there and bing bang boom you’re in
Explain? The schools she would be applying to (competitive schools) are going to have the same Freshman admission no matter what?
because they pay 3-4x more to attend and don’t receive any federal aid you weirdo In 2015 almost 30% of tuition dollars came from international students while they made up just 12% of attendees
also before this low key nationalistic rant really takes off - The Cohen warrant documents just dropped
I'm a weirdo, because I don't understand? I'm going through this for the first time in 30 years. I know you like to pretend that you are on the forefront of every issue and you cornered the market on right and wrong, but let us noobs catch up. Do they really pay 4 x's more? I never heard that before.
For a State school, yes (US Citizen), but that is for anyone out of State. Is it more for people out of country?
colleges became a lot more ~*~entrepreneurial~*~ after the 2008 economic crisis and a lot of these fees went up since international students pay 1. Primarily out of pocket and/or 2. Receive aid from their home country. also take into consideration that about a quarter of the billion dollar startups in Silicon Valley were founded by someone who came here as an international student
But that is what it would cost my daughter from NY to go there also. My point is there are people who will pay that. They don't accept everyone.
Can you give me an example of what it would cost an International Student compared to out of State student in a State School? Does this apply to private Universities also?
it's generally pretty close when you compare out of state to international, but int'l still pays a bit more. It's also possible for out of state students to receive some in-state benefits. private schools are pretty similar across the board since they don't have in/out of state tuition. private schools also don't have to release their numbers
Here’s a pretty good article that breaks down the impact of international students https://www.businessinsider.com/for...much-for-tuition-at-us-public-colleges-2016-9
I'm in hell right now trying to figure all of this out. Like I said, my first child is applying now, and my head is spinning. I have one two years later and one three years later, so the next 10 years of my life I am going to be poor.
