it’s a violation of campaign finance law and laws regarding political activities by the Executive branch to use taxpayer resources to investigate a person for political purposes.

The fact that no one is doing anything about it might be a reflection of the fact that of the two authorities empowered to investigate such violations of law, one is led by the person responsible for these violations and the other doesn’t have the commissioners necessary to form a quorum to take action because the President has declined to nominate anyone to fill empty commissioner seats.

There’s no legitimate reason to believe Ukraine and the DNC worked together to frame the Russians. Investigating that is a corrupt abuse of power that serves only to advance Trump and the GOP’s political interests

Yes, or in other words, I think it’s fairly transparent that the purpose of Trump’s ask is to discredit the investigation into his own conduct, and not any bonafide intent to discover the truth behind who hacked the DNC server, since we already know (and I think indicted, but don’t remember) the culpable party.
