Also BWC deserves a big kick in the mouth for comparing regular folks to some plantation sweet women shit
It's like when Obi-wan appeals to the good in Anakin's soul but it's too late. Anakin has no soul at that point... Anakin doesnt even exist really
Joe_Pesci you literally live in the only state to ever ban black people from living there, there’s an entire behind the bastards episode dedicated to how racist Oregon is, wake up bud edit: this is not to say this person is bad but they are definitely being influenced by people who are
Got some bad news for you Joe... But I'm sorry that people close to you are revealing their true selves. It sucks big time...we've all experienced it.
This piece of historical trivia is highly overrated. I'm guessing it's a reaction to the state being cast as some kind of utopia in the 2000s. But it is not. The most "diverse" parts of the state are still 90+% white.
I would love to see the (any?) number of black people who were actually expelled from oregon based on the 1857 constitution I'm not defending the obvious racist policies from that time, but that sort of attack is super lazy and would be better spent on the legal housing deeds in the big cities eastward Oregon is not a diverse state and the rural parts are racist as fuck, but I get pretty bored of people bringing up that weakass vice doc
The main crimes here were crushing all of the natives and then allowing like 4 well-connected groups of them to build casinos 100 years later, fwiw
I would say that the goal was to discourage black people escaping the South from moving to Oregon, not necessarily kicking people out of the state. At that time there were African Americans flocking to west coast cities like LA, SF and Seattle. Oregon and the Klan didn't want the same.
Certainly keeping former slaves and other African-Americans away from the state during the great migration is shameful but I see these people from the South wielding that podcast and vice doc as a sort of "you're racist too!" hammer and it's a little comical considering the scale And also like I mentioned, the natives that were driven out of our state or outright killed were largely fishermen. That's the actual crime here
He is just justifying his vote. He has always been a supporter. Anyone with half a brain knows that the economy is at best a continuation of Obama’s, but that Presidents don’t really drive economies. They are slow moving ships.
HOW MANY GODDAMN TIMES DOES IT NEED TO BE STATED THAT ACTIONS AND BEHAVIORS MATTER MORE THAN INTENT? Why you did something is not important to me. It only matters that you did it. There is evidence that you did it. End of story. That’s how fucking simple it is. And this applies to the presidential impeachment inquiry, staff members, etc. Don’t fucking overthink and complicate this.
i'll enjoy reading the endless op-eds about how impeachment is hurting republicans but wait no i wont because the media never does this except to dems
Meet the Press did the exact same shit this morning with a panel of Republican voters from Michigan who held their noses and voted for Trump.
Am I mistaken or shouldn’t it be consider a Logan Act violation when Trump wore a “Keep America Great” hat on-field for the Army-Navy game? Small compared to anything else going on, but yet another something sliding under the radar as more norms are cancelled.
I am old enough to remember arguing with Dbl about trump supporters being racist pos or at the very least racist enabling assholes. Sorry to break it to you but that “sweet nice welcoming” woman is a pos.
Oregon is twice the size of Alabama, the “rural” more racist part of Oregon is a long ways from the I-5 corridor from Portland to Eugene (though there are pockets otherwise). The racism in Oregon isn’t as pervasive as say Alabama. I don’t think you telling Joe that Oregon has had a racist history is any news to him...and it obviously pales in comparison to actual slave owning Alabama.
Tea Pain stop it. You’re making my sadistic funny bone tingle. Where the fuck is the NRA in their dark foreign money scandal? The list for GOP and conservative groups that I want eviscerated with justice grows each year. Looking forward to 2020.
The next 4-8 years are going to be amazingly pathetic when the GOP cries about every Warren does and claim she's a dictator
Actually not bad procedure by Schumer I just wish they’d call the gop a criminal cartel every chance they get and anytime some trash can GOPer or Mediatype mention Hunter Biden they’d say “repeat that sentence and replace it with Ivanka.”
