Jesus christ at the 20% of Republicans that think Blackface is "always acceptable"
the continued realignment of the parties along racial belief lines is getting really really stark
i know the myth of austerity measures on the impoverished leading to positive outcomes still holds strong in the US but the stacks of research about it are unequivocal
or educational lines
the book of mark blyth is a good read
But what if I’m using it to dress up as a black person?
if you're wrong and it sucks i'm sending you an invoice
Maybe they need to be told about bootstraps.
A Biden nominee will guarantee Trump wins in 2020 IMO
Was never going to become really Lannister because then GOP would always pay their budget deficits
If people REALLY cared about the Iraq war, why would any of these incumbents since then been reelecated?
Why would the GOP have ANY credibility on security and military strength?
Biden probably isn’t the answer because there’s a lot of grass roots energy and he’s an establishment centrist. I don’t think it’s the Iraq war.
Williamson county in Tennessee, a county that is like 10th nationally in median income, has a reported a 62% rise in parents claiming religious exemptions for their childrens vaccinations.
County is also represented by an anti vaxxer in Congress
everything is fine here in Tennessee
Religious exemption? What a fucking sham excuse for being a loony
Worth the read. Love Robert Reich
I'm worried by this stuff with Biden...
biden would be an awful candidate. He is a nice awkward grandpa as long as he can just keep this role
He is not awkward, he probably has (which you need in these positions) some form of psychopathy, and psychopaths have trouble with personal space and boundaries.
Can't risk a blister.
What the fuck is wrong with people?
sounds like he doesn't know what the word never means.
Ya know, I tried the whole religion thing and I’ve pretended pretty well over the years in an attempt to coerce myself into believing what everyone around me believes in, but the whole evangelical movement of rejecting science and using a fictional scripture as a prop for bigotry is too god damn much for me. The teachings of Christ, regardless of the extent to which his life is accurately chronicled, are excellent. But evangelicals just use them out of convenience and really just latch onto the primordial Old Testament as their theology.
Fuck modern Christianity. It’s a sham.
Its fucking stupid
You cant send kids to school with strep throat because it puts other kids at risk why the fuck should they be allowed to put the other kids at risk
Right. But the religious exemption is just a ploy to avoid the other exemption, which requires a doctor note. Religious exemption is no questions asked. Aka, parents are lying.
still the best Erickson is a lunatic story is him saying his parents (not born and not born when pearl harbor happened) made it a point to never eat chinese food on the pearl harbor anniversary then a reporter called his mom and she was like "what? no"
Also, for reference, Williamson county is the richest county in the state and is the the first red county outside of the Nashville metro area. Much like the place with the measles outbreak outside of Portland.
I wonder what exactly has happened in the last 3 years that has won him over
He was nervous pulling the religious facade off his white ethnonationalism charade would destroy his ability to mobilize white voters to vote Republican.
Turns out, White voters have no problem with the explicit bigotry. The grift still works no matter how anti-science, anti-truth, anti-intellectual the GOP digs. So, :netsfan:.
ilhan omar saga of the last 24 hours really shows legacy medias blind spots
tripping over themselves to call her anti-semitic (in this case on super thin grounds) but having a dedicated thesaurus for ways to not call someone a racist is a bad look
What is the issue now? I assume same as it was last week?
Anyone have a link to the actual question Pew asked on blackface? It is absolutely ridiculous that such a high % of people could think it is always ok to wear blackface. I could understand maybe the standard 2-3% not understanding a question. Beyond that means we have massive structural issues far exceeding the idiocy required to elect Trump.
We get it, it's where Brentwood is. Aka Hendersonville without a lake.
yeah she just got more blunt in the last 18 hours, just scroll her tweets over that time
people REALLY upset she called out Kevin McCarthy's "they'll be punished" statements as a result of his connections and donations from AIPAC and other Israel connected lobbyists
House reps are supposed to represent their community. Lots of Muslim ppl live in US. not crazy that they have an advocate in Congress. The way any Israel issue is handled now pisses me off
the tweet that made people meltdown
This Candace Owens thing has me thinking. You keep hearing the Young Conservative brain trust (Wohl, Owens, Shapiro) constantly complaining about media bias in coverage in that the media only covers Democratic issues. Given their blatant stupidity, shouldn't they be counting their graces that there isn't mainstream coverage of the stuff they do and say? I know they say there is no such thing as bad publicity, but if the GOP were covered in an honest fashion, you would think it would be terrible.
I'm in this weird place where I am applying logic. I'm sure I'll snap out of it eventually.
How exactly could the minority leader punish them?
But you fail to recognize that the idiotic things they say are not idiotic to the idiots who are saying it, so any backlash against them is due to media bias.
BUT NO ONE PUSHED STEVE KING OUT YEARS AGO
Will be interesting when wealth redistribution takes care of itself because wealthy play themselves out and succumb to preventable diseases.
I had someone respond to one of my anti-Gaetz DUI posts on twitter with a “what about Beto’s DUI?” and to humor them, I said “that’s not a great look either” to which they responded “I noticed you didn’t mention how bad his hit and run was so it’s amazing that the left continues to be in favor of hit and runs”.
I just can’t engage seriously with Trump voters anymore. Their brains are ruined. Sterilize them, wait for their bloodlines to die out, and let’s move on.
Colbert's joke about Peter Hegseth being a Lovecraft tribute name still rules
"I did not endorse Trump bc of his proposed policy"
(Trump tries to do everything he said in campaign)
"I endorse Trump"
CBO: Federal budget deficit to exceed $1 trillion annually beginning in 2022
You’re an anti Semite when you bring up lobbying, but a fuckig snowflake when you talk about religious tolerance and the dangers of the alt right.
The GOP is so principled!
Pointing out NRA money's influence on the anti gun control lobby is fine
Pointing out Oil&Energy companies decades worth of money influence on climate change denial is fine.
Yet pointing out AIPAC's money influence as a reason why the senate literally just passed an anti israel boycott bill(a violation of the first amendment) is somehow antisemitic.
We already know that the Republicans are looking for any reason to smear in bad faith but the type of Democrats that are currently piling on need to GTFO
