I've lived in Alabama my entire life. I work with factory workers in rural areas all over the country. I'll gladly say that shit to anyone. Other than letting himself get shot in the head by a thespian, Lincoln's biggest mistake was allowing Robert E Lee to not suffer more consequences for his treason, and for not squashing out the philosophical underpinnings of the Confederacy post bellum. Lee should have been shot in the face, set on fire, and hung upside down, then drawn and quartered with pieces being sent for rotating display in various town squares across the South, with his head on a pike for permanent display in Richmond until the flesh rotted and there was nothing but a traitorous skull remaining.
I hold no ill will towards the generals and the soldiers who got brainwashed into thinking they were fighting for their rights.
