Surprised this is news. But there are tons of people who don't know how sick they are, let alone trends in chronic disease prevalence. Here's the real fuck-all of Republican proposed health bills: it fucks over the segment of the population that bears the greatest burden of chronic disease. Wanna know what happens when folks with COPD, congestive heart failure, diabetes, etc can't access the primary care resources they need to manage their disease? They decompensate, very predictably. And hospitalizations, ICU admissions, rescue procedures go WAY up, and therefore so too does the cost of healthcare in this country. So the GOP not only fucks over poor people, it fucks everybody. The cost of HC is horribly unsustainable as it is, and the GOP plan (you know, the party of "fiscal responsibility") pours gas on the fire. Literally the only people who benefit from their legislation is millionaires who stretch their budget so thin that they could use an extra couple hundred thousand dollars. Fuck. These. Clowns.
