A) Florida’s budget surplus is not there because of anything DeSantis did. Florida’s primary sources of revenue are tourism taxes and property taxes, and the fact that a real estate boom doubled home prices in just a couple of years means the state was making at least twice as much in property taxes. B) Hey, asshole, those dollars belong to Floridians because they came from Floridians. I thought conservatives hated welfare. If Texas couldn’t afford to pay maybe they needed to grab those ol’ bootstraps.
