My wife mentioned we had a dad at our kid's end of year Tball celebration party complain openly about the prospect of critical race theory being taught in our schools. He was threatening to move his kid to private school. He was adamant teachers were going to make his son hate who he is. My wife said the other parents just rolled their eyes. Then a kid broke his arm on the slip and slide and the topic apparently changed quickly. I wish I had been there. I would have enjoyed making him squirm. He has no idea what it is actually all about but as a dutiful conservative, he takes his marching orders from Fox and must proclaim his ill-informed grievances publicly to be admitted into heaven. Or something like that. No coincidence his son also was the one kid who constantly showed up at games without a mask...

When I attended my wife's coat burning ceremony for med school, every black (mostly female iirc) graduate talked about the racism they experienced. One graduate talked about how a patient refused care by simply pointing at her arm then brushing it off like dirt. Surely those students weren't discriminated against or oppressed though.

Yes. No one would do this. A medical degree means they are a physician (M.D. or D.O.). There’s plenty of doctorate level degrees in the healthcare world (psychology, pharmacy, nurse practitioner, physical therapy, etc) but they don’t (shouldn’t) say they have a medical degree.

You get a diploma when you complete residency program. I haven’t heard anyone call it a medical degree, but I suppose you could.
