Last night I met a guy who is a recent transplant from Mississippi who was talking all kinds of shit about the state and the South in general. Apparently at his workplace (which was public higher ed) when one of his coworkers found out he was Jewish, they gifted him a holy bible lmao
God damn some of these idiots. I saw a mother who wanted to take her kids out of school “because the CDC is recommending WEEKLY Covid tests for unvaxxed students.” Me: there’s roughly 30 million k-5 students. None of them are vaxed. You really believe the CDC is recommending 30 million COVID tests EACH WEEK for them? Idiot: Yes
Ive made this argument numerous times, but every comic book villain is right, but they have to push their ideas too too far because he can’t be the villain if he makes too much sense. There are too many people. Gotham’s rich did need to be punished
I went to this guy’s Twitter feed and got a promoted advertisement for Dr. Death on Peacock. I guess the Twitter algorithm has a sense of humor..
Anyway, enough with meteoric rises in deadly worldwide viruses, decimating places like Florida and Missouri. Let's check in on what REALLY matters
Cancel culture doesn’t exist because Tucker Carlson fucking sucks and continues to get paid for his Nantucket Goebbels impression every night in prime time.
LOL. Turns out she thought that weekly screenings (have you had a fever, etc surveys) were diagnostic swab tests. Still refuses to admit she’s wrong.
Greg uses the phrase “vice signal” in that Twitter thread 100% he post here, either that or he should
I don’t know about that, he’s repeatedly conciliatory about the friends and family. Too soft of a take ‘round these parts.
Tennessee's removing one of their statues of beloved folk hero (and treasonous racist piece of shit) Nathaniel Bedford Forrest https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/23/us/kkk-leader-bust-removed-tn-capitol/index.html
Not showing up for me, but I have shifted over to the side of villains. Bond movies always used to make them so over the top, but once villains became concerned with real events like the rich, overpopulation or environmental issues, I get their points more.
Well that makes them more anti heroes like the Punisher or Deadpool. But just ending life was thanos being a dick because the universe is pretty big.
Actually, I think Thanos only real mistake was not scrapping the whole thing like he ultimately stated at the end. A society he created that believed in what he did that didn't know what was lost actually worked. Again, his original point of overcrowding and depleting natural resources being an issue isn't wrong, but the idea to you murder half of everyone and not try to lower the population organically or find alternative sources is how they had to make it go too far. SPOILERS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN FALCON/WINTER SOLDIER Spoiler In Falcon and Winter Soldier, one of the consequences of getting rid of half the population was that there were no more borders. That isn't a bad thing. But of course, the people who only wanted to get rid of borders had to become domestic terrorists, because someone saying "hey, no borders are actually a good thing" makes way too much sense.
Thanos's blunder was using the stones to destroy life rather than just like making a zillion more planets/resources for everyone
