because her town hall is all over my TL and every time I read about her it's just worse. reading about her begging for applause made me stumble onto another article where she once begged the USDA to consider pizza sauce a vegetable in order to make Schwan Foods happy. every time I turn around she just says more dumb shit and the sooner I don't hear about her anymore in this race the better.
Well, before it came out that she was a monster to work for, and ate salad with her comb to make a point to a kid making 35k, working 75 hours a week, and living in DC, she was hot shit. Cause she was midwest nice.
Mayor Pete about to go in raw. https://www.politico.com/story/2019/04/23/fox-town-hall-pete-buttigieg-1287868
Which one is more likely, that we find away to pull ourselves out of this mess politically or that it descends into a violent societal collapse? I honestly could be convinced of either but I'm leaning option b
My insanely optimist side says this will work out, I'm still scared though. Shit will get really gross if Trump survives 2020.
The republican who comes after trump will be worse, IMO, if their path continues. Trumps incompetence has been his greatest boon.
if Dems can string 2 presidents together in a row, it'll kill the modern GOP. they are very slightly hanging onto relevance right now via gerrymandering and voter fraud, the reality is there are more people willing to vote Dem than Republican because the GOP is rocketing hard right so if people show up to vote, the GOP will struggle mightily. putting them in the background for 12-16 years would force them to change because as they fear: the country isn't getting whiter. they're running on the fumes of elderly white people and those numbers shrink by the day. they're going to have to get some women and minorities into the fold to continue. the whole country just gets lazy once "their guy" wins it and it's inevitably the undoing of the next candidate from that party. the worry would be having a successful Dem president for 8 years unfucking a lot of what Trump did and making us respectable again like Obama following GWB and then people don't feel like the problem is as iminent anymore and they don't show up for the next person. Dems really need to use the GOP handbook and run with it, if we get a Dem for 8 years they need to spend that time continuing to scare everyone about how easy it'll be for the GOP to undo the past few years like they've tried in this administration and keep stoking those fires for future elections.
2/3 of the country is against impeachment and you really think a violent revolution is on the horizon?
I think violence from nationalism will increase. A new civil war seems far fetched but Trump 2.0 is certainly going to make racist morons even more emboldened.
I agree with your premise but...you have waaaaay more faith in Dems than me, three consecutive presidential terms?
America has been far worse off and fractured than it is now. During the Civil Rights movement for one. Problem is we can only reverse course if we ad DC and Puerto Rico as states as soon as possible.
I think this article was posted here a couple of years ago, but it's worth reading. obviously deals specifically with seal team six, but i suspect many of the issues are broadly applicable https://theintercept.com/2017/01/10/the-crimes-of-seal-team-6/
FYI If you don't want to have to go through Audible, this guy is doing a reading of the full Mueller report for free: http://muellerreport.libsyn.com
I like a lot of what you're saying here, I really do. The people in ~1973 might have felt the same. Then Reagan won in 80, absolutely stomped Mondale in 84, and his vice president won in 88.
Impeachment won’t result in a Senate conviction, its starting to look if the process is never launched, Dems just become complicit in not fully addressing Russian interference in 16 and helping to leave the door open in 20.
that would require congressional approval, which isn't happening any time soon given the current senate majority.
Ok this as a tweet is just scary. Is there any chance this happened as described? Perfect example of boy who cried coyote.
