I think too many Feds (among others) walk away from misconduct at work without any real consequence because the ass pain of employment litigation sucks. I don't know if what McCabe did warrants termination because I don't have a strong grasp of the facts about what he did or the facts about how DOJ OPR handles misconduct. But if his case actually warrants removal, he shouldn't get away with it just because of how close he was to retirement when he committed the misconduct, particularly when he held a position as lofty as he did at the time.
