There was a huge study on Teleology and Conspiracies done in Aug17. It found the following traits correlate with conspiratorial thinking: Hyperactive agency detection Hyperactive pattern recognition Lack of acceptance of science Lack of analytical thinking Lack of trust in authorities Feeling like you lack control of your life Wanting to feel special At least 5 of these can be used to describe the Religious Right, which is, effectively, all of the American Right.
Stanford produces a George Washington U. level of shitstains on this country. See the Hoover Institution and all it does as a cause.
Hard hat and high visibility vest. OR Spooky Muslim arsonist who didn't bother to change out of religious clothing before burning down famous building!!!!
Russians fetishize the past at least as much as we do. Nostalgia for the old communist order has been steadily rising over the past 20 years or so iirc. I almost wonder if it's some kind of defect in the human psyche. People seem to have an impulse to remember the "good old days"
Right. TIL that when I wear a white hardhat and safety vest to my various construction projects, I'm actually converting to Islam.
Remembering the good and not the bad is a basic human coping mechanism. People who remember the bad at high levels drive themselves insane.
I guess it falls under #7 on your list but I recall reading that your typical conspiracy theorist also has a major god complex. Only they can see through the fog and understand the information truly being presented to us, and thus it is their duty to share and inform the masses
The thing I hate most about conspiracy theorists is their incessant reference to "doing research." Just do your research, I did my research, the truth is out there. FUCK YOU.
Let me get this straight. The public could reasonably conclude mueller was investigating obstruction and there was question of whether or not the full mueller report would be released or redacted. AND Barr wrote a fucking memo about why the president can’t obstruct justice and previously mislead congress in redacted memos. What the fuck could’ve been in this guy’s past not to confirm him as AG? Honestly, confirmations are becoming more and more of a show—it’s less offensive if Congress doesn’t even bother to care.
It scares the shit out of him. Bernie has an economic message a lot of Midwest trump voters agree with.
Person after shown actual paper evidence of Donald Trump's being a racist and fraud and all of the people are him being arrested: "but really we need real proof" Same person: "LOOK AT THIS BLURRY VIDEO I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT IM SEEING BUT ITS TERRORISM"
Least surprising headline I have ever seen involving the words Paulding and County* Source* former child that was moved there in 7th grade against my will
Roy Moore Is Proof the Republican Party's Problem Ain't Trump, It's the Republican Party esquire.com/news-p...
"Just research it" = "I don't have a cohesive position that makes any logical sense, I don't know how to present my position so that it makes any logical sense, I don't like you making me feel stupid, and so I'm placing the burden on you because I have nowhere else to go with this cockamamie belief" Still my favorite "Just research it" video:
