Referencing 200 years ago sure feels a lot like “maga” What’s super disappointing is Symone Sanders is his campaign manager and she ran Bernie’s ‘16 campaign.
his kickoff rally apparently had about one thousand people show up, about the same as a random Andrew Yang rally he's 2020's Jeb
It really isn't that hard to have a staffer read the lyrics of Born in the USA. Probably says a lot about how out of touch our politicians are that they don't realize what that song is saying
So for all of you guys taking this philosophical position, what are you actually suggesting we do? I’ve seen four of you respond to my post and get a like fest from others, but what is the solution short of railing against the idea of a moral high ground? I think it would be interesting to hear some actual suggestions of actions that go beyond.
1) Stop worrying about whether republicans feel they are being vilified, Republicans sure as fuck don’t care when they are vilifying minorities, gays and anyone who disagrees with them. 2) Stop neutering legislation under the guise of compromise, when’s the last time republican watered down any of their destruction legislation? 3) Once elected reverse some of the destructive legislation that republicans pass, but democrats always let it stand or they end up trying to fix it which still ends up in people being fucked. 4) Investigate republicans and punish them for their bullshit, republicans have no problem investigating shit that shouldn’t be while democrats turn a blind eye to blatant abuses because of optics, compromise and moral high ground. The fact that no one went to jail for Iraq is Obama’s biggest failure. Also not holding these people accountable leads to them getting promotions when the next republican administration takes control, see Gina Haspel. 5) Stop giving a shit about being looked at as too radical, whether it’s Bernie, Warren or Biden the democrat nominee will be seen as a far left radical so why bother trying to prove that you’re not. These are things off the top of my head, but it’s a good starting point.
Give him a break. I’d imagine even with a team working on it, creating illustrations for such a long document takes time. Probably isn’t ready for him yet.
Biden’s basically from Philly, the Boss is the most famous musician from the area and they played his most popular song before a rally. Bitching about Born in the USA and Biden referencing the Declaration of Independence in a stump speech is beyond dumb. Can we find something a little more important to criticize the front runner on if we are dead set on tearing down the guy with the best chance to beat Trump based on all of the up to date polling?
All I’ve learned about trumps business and personal life these past few years, it’s clear that “loser” and “dog” are also projections of himself.
When this is all said and done I don't think he has the best chance. Time will prove that out, But Trump-Biden is going to be two old guys yelling at each other and making dad jokes, Same with Bernie. Biden right now is up because everyone in the country says, oh yeah, I know him, He's Obama's buddy, once shit takes off and everyone finds a level amount of coverage I think he will get left in the dust. And I like him.
There are plenty of more important topics to “tear down” Biden. Where would you like to start? Opposing bussing? Pro-credit card company legislation? Anita Hill and respect for other women? He has no business running and playing “Born in the USA” is comedy
Symone Sanders is in it for a paycheck and that's it. She doesn't actually have any beliefs outside of cold hard cash
These people are just monsters. We need to stop being cordial with these people and treating them as if they matter at all the second we find a way to get back in power.. Just absolutely disgusting monsters masquerading as humans. "Consensual Rape", I'd smack the fuck out of someone if they said that to me.
I like how it's apparently too much to ask of a guy running for President to understand the lyrics of the song he's using in his campaign
All good things, most are being done now. none of them breaks rules or gives up moral high ground. Thus my point. The suggestion was to not follow rules and don’t worry about moral high ground.
“You want obstruct justice if there is no crime” I was waiting for this one, makes me think there is pressure behind it. And yes Donald, you can obstruct justice if there is no crime.
I like when this gets spun into - "There's nothing more American than fighting back against a tyrannical government" or some bs like that.
Most people come here to vent and/or get validation for their views. Regrettably, if someone posts views that don’t align with the majority they are immediately attacked, often in an ad hominem fashion. I certainly understand their frustration and respect the fact they do give a damn about trying to make the country a better place for everyone. That said, many here stubbornly refuse to accept the cold realities of both our political system and selfish human nature. As for solutions, I think a combination of a renewed emphasis on grassroots canvassing and a shit ton of lawsuits aimed at reversing the rampant GOP gerrymandering would be a good start. I also think pushing a state-based climate accord would be another positive step, which would hopefully grease the rails for a more comprehensive plan like the GND one day. You kinda saw that spring up in reaction to Trump leaving Paris. Basically, any idea that doesn’t depend on running face first into the filibuster would be welcome at present.
