Yesterday I was a little concerned that we lived in a world where the US was complicit in turning a blind eye to a murderous regime killing a journalist for being critical of it just because said regime is buying stuff from the US and its president. Today, I feel very relieved to learn that his wasn’t a murder, but simply the result of some OSHA violations in the workplace.

I think she’s so out of touch that she thought it would be some kind of “gotcha!” The frustrating thing is that the genuinely offensive part of the Pocahontas trope is the presumption that Native Americans and women are able to jump in line for preferential treatment and those who are successful got there for a reason other than merit. Why not attack from that angle instead of playing his game and taking a meaningless test?
