This American Life had a really great episode a few months ago about some town in Tennessee (I think it was Tennessee) where this type of roundup happened, and how all of a sudden when the white folks in town who were rabidly anti-immigrant actually saw the effects of this type of action first hand they changed their minds and joined the protests. It is very much worth a listen.
right, but they are cutting off their nose to spite their face. i wonder how many of the top money that funnels in bc of "tax cuts" will dry up as those same people's businesses have to hire actual wage earners.
I didn’t hear that podcast but something similar happened in Southern Illinois. There were a few articles on it
I... I don't think its anyone's fault we discuss something posted in this thread that isn't about the kids in Mississippi?
We are capable of worrying about a divisive movie causing violence in the wake of two mass shootings and recognizing the cruelty of Trump and his gestapo at the same time. Being pissed off about things isn't a one-at-a-time issue.
Cool. Cool cool. Trump Supporter with Loaded Pistol, Knife Arrested Outside El Paso Immigrant Center Meanwhile, El Paso police arrested a Trump supporter Wednesday as he sat outside an organizing space for immigrant activists, wearing blue latex gloves and brandishing a knife. Organizers with Casa Carmelita say police also recovered a loaded gun, ammunition and a bag of white powder from the man’s truck, which sported a large banner portraying Donald Trump as Rambo and bumper stickers for the far-right conspiracy website InfoWars. The man appears to be 21-year-old Thomas Bartram, who was profiled earlier on Wednesday by the Washington Examiner. Bartram told the paper he was an “open-carry kind of guy” at political rallies; a photo accompanying the article shows Bartram making what appears to be a white nationalist hand gesture.
Been told by the state rep from Scott county that all the kids are accounted for in Mississippi. I think that raid pissed the majority of Miss residents the hell off. It’s been a non secret that those poultry plants employee non citizens and not a single person here as ever cared. The crime in those communities is extremely low. It’s poor communities but no one has ever had an issue. I think both sides of the aisle over here fed this is federal intrusion and are not taking too kindly to ICE in our state. Edit: Of course several people are mostly concerned about the shortage of chicken now. Seriously.
I appreciate the folks in Scott county being pissed off. Now show the nation that what republicans are doing to families in their own community, and around the country is bigger than restricting access to abortions and Supreme Court seats and vote these mother fuckers out of office.
Eh. You won’t see that. The state tends to hold this little isolationist view. Most people here just want to be left alone. Everything you could ever imagine moves at a glacial pace in this state and everyone seems okay with it.
He's using his thumb and index finger to show us the size of his penis You can tell he's still a couple years from puberty.
Does anybody have some good news about Generation Z they can post? Because shit like this asshole hurts my soul.
bwi2 thoughts on this? I wouldn’t think this would get very far. I’d think the IG report is enough of a cover, even though it was obvious why he was actually fired.
Several years ago my one of my GenZ sons was telling me at school pickup about some kid that he'd been hanging out with that day, and the kid's name didn't ring a bell with me, so I asked my kid more about him. He said, oh, he's over there by the parking lot, he's the one in the blue collared shirt. I look over at a group of kids by the parking lot, and the only kid over there with a blue collared shirt was also the only black kid. It warmed my heart that it didn't occur to my son to describe the kid by his race/ethnicity but instead by his clothing.

Furthermore, alcohol is a factor in the deaths of 4,358 young people under age 21 each year. These include 245 deaths annually from alcohol poisoning, falls, burns, and drowning. Other fatalities are due to alcohol-related motor vehicle crashes, homicides, and suicides. In 2017, almost 5,500 young people aged 15 through 24 years died from an overdose in the United States. BUT LETS HOLD UP ON THE WEED
I have visited Amsterdam twice and can honestly state that there were nonstop mass shootings. just everywhere. goddamn weed
I smoke weed every night and to be honest it inspires me to do nothing more than watch the office and go to sleep at 10:30
Really outside my area of expertise but it seems like it would be difficult to toss this case out at the motion to dismiss stage, and that the Department would have a number of strong incentives to settle before going to discovery. I’m a little surprised he didn’t add in a whistleblower claim, which I tend to think would be his best argument against the IG findings, but maybe the WPEA doesn’t apply to him?
If Laura injected her eye sockets with weed pots more often she probably wouldn’t be such an insufferable bitch.
That's weird, I smoke every night and get the undying urge to grab a gun and go spray bullets. Maybe I need to switch from sativa to indica.
Does this pass the red flag test as stated in the proposed legislation? Infowars and 911 is an inside job stickers.
