The average American doesn't have a 401k, and I'm hyper fucking tired of hearing about how the 30 richest corporations in the world, or whatever, are temporarily inconvenienced by various global catastrophes they helped fucking create.
Any of you who have ever been to the Taj Majal know the area outside is pretty devastatingly poverty stricken. Apparently they put up walls on the drive in so president T didn’t have to see the poor people.
Most of the Indians I know either like Trump or have good things to say about him. Part of this is of course a cultural tendency towards deference, and many have green cards and visas and are careful in this environment. But one theme, that I’ve seen first hand having spent plenty of time in India, is amusement from Indians in the US over how much Americans get wrapped up over the perception of Trump’s corruption. There is broad and deep corruption in India and it flows down to everyday lives and interactions with local and civic authorities. To some degree it’s a matter of perspective and it’s relative to one’s experience. Americans often dismiss other frames of reference and only see things through the Merica lens.
Ok, let’s add pension funds for every teacher, firefighter, government employee, and retiree in this country? I mean dude, I get you and a handful of others would performatively cheer a revolution or whatever, but the idea that only the rich and powerful care about and are impacted by the stock market is just absurd.
In the long run, that 401k doesn’t mean anything, unless we move to address income inequality and prevent an economic crash.
GF(born and raised in Mumbai) says these are a bunch of poors, who have nothing better to do but dream of going to America and it’s a dream come true for them that a president of the country they all dream of living in visit regardless of politics which they know nothing about.
I could be wrong, because I'm not sure how to look this up, but I really think most people in this country don't realize how shitty it is out there. In the last few years I've worked a lot with abjectly poor people in the Midlands of SC, and there's this common phenomenon where they simultaneously don't seem to understand how dire their situation is, and they also incorrectly assume most people are doing significantly better. I think television might be responsible or something. idk. But if all these people were to ever be emancipated from their misconceptions, then God have mercy on the souls of the rich.
Clever “btw I can’t really hear with this earpiece”. Now he’d just claim he never said it after an interview. also, oppo research needs to “DO YOUR JOB”. Trump did fucking business with USSR and corrupt oligarchs afterward. That’s the easy response to boomers who have issue with Bernie saying anything less than “nuke them”.
President Trump has been called "Dolan" Trump by Indian PM Modi which translates to"two-penises" in Urdu/Hindi. Trump tribune.com.pk/story/...
