Bowling Green is being so fucking stupid here. When you are down 6 you want to score with as little time as possible and they are going so fucking fast it's stupid.

When you're behind by 6, you don't worry about how much time you leave. You take the TD when you can get it. There's no sure thing of getting it in the endzone. 30 seconds isn't a long time.
I'm not saying they should have altered their playcalling. I'm saying they were rushing to the line too quickly. They were inside the 30 with 1:44 and a timeout. There was no need to be hurrying.
by the same token...Turner Gill needs to shot for his misuse of TOs....once they get inside the 10 with 135 or whatever...you have to call your TOs....I mean BG isn't going to run out of time..so you either stop them & you can run out the clock yourself on offense...or they score & you left 120 or so on the clock for your offense..
Agreed. Not calling timeouts when the opposing team is inside the 10 at the end of the game is the #1 mistake I see coaches make over and over again. Gill also really fucked up the end of the first half. His team hadn't been stopped on offense all half and he got the ball with over 2:00 I think and basically tried to run the clock out. They ended up at midfield with :12 left and all 3 timeouts. No excuse for that.
Actually the last play of the half ended at the BG 20.....you have no idea how pissed I was at that sequence.....clock management in general is atrocious...but that was just epic.
