I see every new show that's been mentioned and raise everyone the new Kevin James show. It looks god awful
this might even deserve it's own thread on the tv board, but we'll leave it here Michael Lombardo (head of programming) out at HBO http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/michael-lombardo-depart-as-hbo-896177 HBO is not in a good spot right now, so i guess this isn't super surprising.
Game of thrones is done in 2 years and they aint got shit on right now or anything in production to carry that audience.
they have thrones as a critical and commercial success (ending in 2 years, maybe with shortened seasons). they have silicon valley, veep and the leftovers as critical successes. and silicon valley and veep air at the same time as got. once those 3 are off, hbo has a major void for the majority of the year. vinyl was a massive disappointment (critically and commercially). they cancelled/postponed westworld. they lost a shit ton of money (and horses) on that horse racing show a few years ago. they have nothing in pipeline that's remotely as exciting as what they've had in the past + they're now competing with netflix, amazon, and fx (among others) for the top shows.
no. not even close. they should be, but have you ever met one person that bought hbo to watch veep or silicon valley? they're critical successes, which is often as important for hbo's purposes, but not super popular. and again, all 3 air at the same time leaving hbo ~40 weeks sundays out of the year with little to get people to watch
Designated Survivor looks good. The Exorcist show has potential but they'll probably fuck it up. All the other network shows look unwatchable next year* *That Mandy Moore show actually looks ok, but I don't watch shows where babies die so fuck that.
@TVbytheNumbers 7m7 minutes ago HBO says fall premieres for drama “Westworld” and comedies “Divorce,” “Insecure” and “High Maintenance.” No specific dates yet.
maybe i should know this, but i don't even know what shows Starz has. But they're moving them to Sunday night to challenge HBO, etc http://fortune.com/2016/05/26/starz-hbo-showtime-sunday/?xid=soc_socialflow_twitter_FORTUNE
they have outlander (knew i was forgetting one that I should have known) and then both these could be good
Gets A LOT better after S1. Usually I don't stick with shows if the first season is meh, but it's become one of my favorites.
A drug kingpin who opens up a nightclub to wash his money in NY and appear as a legitimate businessman. There is a bunch of other sub plots that I won't go into so I don't spoil anything.
G.L.O.W. 'Revival' From OITNB Creator Jenji Kohan Ordered at Netflix Jenji Kohan is getting out of prison and into the ring. Netflix has placed a 10-episode order for the Orange Is the New Black creator’s G.L.O.W., a scripted comedy series inspired by the ’80s phenom of the same name (which stands for Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling). Launched in 1986 as a professional wrestling league for women, G.L.O.W. transitioned into an unscripted syndicated series (1986–90). After the show’s demise, the franchise lived on in the form of events and parties. Netflix’s quasi reboot — set in Los Angeles and showcasing “big hair and body slams” — is being dubbed a “fictionalized story of an out-of-work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.”

i haven't watched in 3 years. although I did hear from people that stuck with it that last year was better than previous installments.
I made it about halfway through S4. think the last episode I remember was Quinn beating the shit out of the guy in the diner.
It's basically the airports and postal service. If you ever go to Australia, declare that you have food.
Shotime ordered a 20 episode, 2 season run of Purity based on the book. Daniel Craig to star. Havent read it but this might prompt me too. Really didnt care for the other book by Franzen that Ive read (The Corrections) HBO ordered a Bill Hader show. That should be good.
HBO cancelled Vinyl. Glad i never started it. Had planned on getting to it at some point. One less thing on the list !
