Thank you Rick Renteria, he’s a bum
I'm tryna decide if I'm going to watch at work on YTTV or try to have a total media blackout and watch tonight. Much rather watch with a beer in hand.
Also, there are a million angles to examine the Twins' playoff futility but this was one that definitely put it in perspective:
Why does this have to happen?
Life has no meaning
It’s karma for subjecting the world to Garrison Keillor for so long
Still waiting for the Bombas
Where to even start...
I’m already dead.
It's really an impressive losing streak. I just don't know how it's possible.
I blame myself.
Going to again head into the off-season hoping the front office makes changes that will actually help, but end up disappointed when we sign more journeyman pitchers
you guys have any payroll room? Gotta think you guys were near your ceiling this past year and 2020 couldn’t have helped
I was really happy with the moves they made last offseason, frankly. We grumbled when they didn't get a frontline free agent starter, but Maeda was a brilliant move. Bailey cost nothing, and Dick Mountain was also low risk. The rotation wasn't the problem at all, and neither was the bullpen, except, vexingly, Taylor Rogers.
They made the biggest FA deal in Twins history in Donaldson, when many (myself included) thought that $$ would be better spent on the rotaish. Still unclear on if that was a good move. He sure did fulfill his injury history, but was pretty good after his early-season slump.
I'm guessing they're going to move on from Cruz, which is a bummer, but I believe the right move. Gonzalez will be gone. I think I read that Rosario is eligible for arbitration but I hope they move on from him. I've always been a fan of his but this was a turd year and he shouldn't be paid by the Twins. Rooker looked like the real deal and they're obviously really high on Kiriloff.
So I do think they should go for a starter, yes, but I for one wasn't disappointed with the addition of Hill/Bailey/Maeda last year.
I agree that last off season seems to be a success. Maeda was a great move and is a beast and Donaldson was a splash if he could ever be healthy. I just hate the continued habit of bringing older pitchers to take a flyer.
Something needs to be done about Sano (strikes out far too often), Rosario (way to up and down and seems to be an idiot at times) and keeping Buxton healthy. Have Rooker and Kiriloff in the bigs next year
Bring in a solid bullpen arm, solid starter and better bench help and ill be happy.
Polanco shouldn't be feeling too comfortable right now, either.
Royce Lewis losing a year of MiLB sucks balls
Sano was a fuckin turd out there the last few weeks. Definitely think Buck is worth the effort but dad gum he's been snakebit
Was the 9th an April Fools joke?
Donaldson hurt, mistakes in the 9th to blow the game. Great opening day
Fuckin Donaldson was the least surprising thing ever.
Mire enthused about Buck than peeved about the ninth tbh
Nice start to the season for Twins starting pitchers.
Donaldson has one ply hamstrings.
Buxton for MVP?
That was terrible.
I can’t believe the way we waste performances by Buxton and Cruz.
Rocco has lost his mind.
Gleeman is so good.
In a way I'm not too worried. It was an atrocious road trip, and Colome seems to be a colossal failure. Get this COVID bullshit out of the way (fuck right off Andrelton Simmons and other antivaxxers on the team), start winning 2/3 again and a bad 10-game stretch can be in the rearview by mid-May.
Buck looking great. Donaldson looking great. Kirloff will be up soon and Cave will be finally jettisoned to the bench. Hope Cruz isn't hurt too badly
Tough but fair.
Good luck with Anthony LaRussa.
he’s been rough so far
Kiriloff out indefinitely, Arraez has what should be a regular concussion but will likely be career-altering like Morneau and Mauer, Sano is just flailing around in BP without getting at-bats, Jake Cave is still fucking playing every day for some reason, the bullpen seems to have talent but just performs like a daggum bag of schlongs.
It's all such a bummer.
Hey guys! Great summer so far!
Interested to see how much selling they do. Have a bunch of guys I can see being traded
How do you hit 7 home runs in a game and lose?
Aaron always provides the needed context.
It's almost like # of homers is not the determining factor.
It’s almost like you should lick my balls
It’s always about the Bombas
Better return for Berrios than I was expecting:
Pretty good trade. Wondering if we trade anyone else away. I figured Simmons and pineada would be gone
Love that we are keeping him and not giving up but please God stay healthy
thought this was a thread about the very cozy but pricey socks
It might as well have been this past season.
That sounds pretty team friendly.
