XQC is a legitimate insane person. Getting kicked out of OWL probably goes down as checkmark in the brand risk category.
I know for a fact there are streamers with a higher than 70% split. That is the standard partner split.
yea, this "nothing higher than $3.50" is nonsense. it's well established that all streamers can negotiate with Twitch on an individual basis and bigger, more valuable streamers have non-standard contracts. even basic bitch partners can attempt to negotiate, it's just they won't actually get anywhere.
Listen guys, I’ve played one game of spell break and I’ve got one victory royals. If CUtigers doesnt figure out the password skill check I’m gonna retire as the GOAT
it is heavily dependant on the group playing it and each group tends to have a different style of doing it. I find it hard to believe anyone could sit there and watch any random group play this and enjoy it all the same. there's chill groups, tryhard groups, funny groups, like I said it's all dependant on who you're watching and the group they interact with usually. personally, I haven't watched much since it first really kicked off with soda and viggy, that was easily my favorite group and soda managed to make it really fun once he felt it get stale by becoming the 3rd impostor but soda's really good about not beating a dead horse for content so he played it for a couple of weeks and moved on. the OTV group is pretty fun to watch, they're pretty relaxed, but like I can't get into xqc's ultra-tryhard group because he's become crazy toxic with this game since he treats it so seriously but hey, some people love it.
And Cloakzy is going to be suspended. He was getting roasted by Tyler and just accidentally / drunkingly gave out part of Tyler’s new contract trying to roast him back.
I mean what do you expect it to be? A few hundred thousand? Anyone would assume it to be a multi million dollar deal.
I might be wrong. He may have broken an NDA with Faze. trying to figure out. Either way he was legit very upset with himself and said a lot of stuff to that effect.
ive been enjoying it a lot specifically because of the OTV group. ive tried to watch the other groups play but yeah xqc's is terrible. i dont hate the ninja/lupo group but i definitely prefer it a lot more when its a mix of that group and OTV but thats mixing a ton of exoerience with a little bit of experience. the destiny streamer group isnt particularly entertaining either. havent even tried watching soda and co.
im pretty sure he was referencing the mixer contract and the 80% was a joke about tfue's contract but that could also be the same contract cloakzy signed I doubt they do anything, that would be a bit much
among us actually looks fun. fall guys seemed dumb/easy but among us is a game that i wish my friends played.
It’s around $2.50 for us peon affiliates. We also get random sofa cushion change for ads. Top streams get 70-75% of sub money.
He's in the OTV Among Us group, you can watch him via someone else's stream. He also uploads his Among Us streams constantly on his Youtube channel, hours of stuff to watch there.
Nick used to team with a guy from Bama who went to UA. Can’t remember his name but he was apart of those high kill Fortnite runs he used to do
so been watching some ninja lately and noticed he takes lots of ad breaks today he said it's part of his contract with twitch that he has to take them which is interesting, bc tim & lupo renewed with twitch last year and don't have to do that so thought it was interesting
Well twitch is changing their business model and putting ads midstream on people who don’t run them enough. I’ve been with it on a few channels now. Streamers hate it because they will lose viewers if an ad pops under a crucial part of the stream. It does give them ad revenue but not enough for many to think it’s worth it. Cohh spent about 10 minutes at the start of his stream earlier this week eviscerating it.
Yea early reports say that Twitch will run adds if you havent seen 3 minutes of ads the last 45 minutes. This was always coming they arent making a lot of money on twitch but they obviously want to. The biggest issue is that the streamers have no control. Say you have this insane part coming up in a game and you dont know its happening. wow its been more than 45 minutes boom half the viewers gets hit with 3 minutes of ads.
is twitch profitable for amazon? curious if anyone knows and if the increased ads are a function of the company trying to improve margins
I dont think it has been, but im not sure. Seems like their strategy has always been to develop it and then start making money. i could be wrong here but i think i’ve heard stuff like that discussed by various streamers. This is clearly a step in that direction.
They make less than any other streaming platform. And the vast majority of high profile streamers agree that they need to recoup their money from their platform which is clearly better than its rivals. Most fundamentally disagree with how it’s been rolled out and have provided multiple ways to improve the issue while being able to appease all parties.
If they run ads on a schedule then they do have control. Twitch tried to incentivize streamers to run ads and they didn’t do it, so this is the result.
I don't think this particularly matters. They're the clear #1 of a huge online medium, they could run this at a loss forever (or until/if streaming died as a medium), not that I think it's run at a loss. Think of it like how Twitter wasn't really making money for the longest time but it didn't matter since everyone still used Twitter. If nothing else, this is Amazon holding this piece of the pie out of reach of Google's grubby paws and even if they don't make money on it then at least neither will Google.
