nice backpedal I was mostly just laughing at the idea that the twitch demographic isn't a highly sought market by advertisers they had the KFC/Mtn Dew ad and it was shown once within the broadcast, not through twitch's ad thing. spotify sponsored a red carpet question they asked a bunch, Dolce and Gabanna fitted the red carpet hosts, on and on. they're in there it's just a matter of growing it out.
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you need to understand the viewers of that stream are largely the viewers of the biggest streamers (who are up for said awards) so you've got the W community, juicers, mizkids, etc. and those all skew in the 12-18 range. you can still sell advertising, of course, but it'll be aimed at teens. as a side point, to add on to a post above I'd definitely expect in-event marketing if for no reason than most people are using an ad-blocker.
Can you explain this to someone who doesnt know shit about twitch, but feels like it's something I should keep tabs on ? please and thank you
This effectively kills any sort of organized production stream events like charities, races, competitions that depends mostly on sponsor funding.
it will basically force all the biggest events (and likely all the streamers tied into them) to leave twitch for youtube twitch is wildly mismanaged
Is Kick going to become big rather than YouTube? All the people I followed during Covid seem to have moved there.
kick is a gambling scam site their finances will never work out, or maybe it will with the gambling ad funnel
Twitch will walk this back, they have to. Streamers can’t do charity streams now bc they can’t advertise?
Dang this is surprising, seemed like the content creators were happy with how kick operated. I’ve never been on it. Haven’t really watched many streamers this year.
my wife likes the scam gambling streams. she feels like she gets to play slots without having to go to the casino herself. The app is so bad she stopped watching.
I like that the new CEO went around on streams and people liked him, never mentioned this to them, and then they drop this and everyone is back against him
Feels to me like their original policy was overly vague on purpose to judge what the blowback might be. They easily could have used that “clarification” in their initial statement.
They’re backtracking, as they should. The big problem is they keep doing this shit. They announce changes, get destroyed (rightfully so), then immediately backpedal.
Idk. She likes it as background noise and it gets her gambling fix satisfied without her spending 7 hours in front of a real slot machine at 50 cents a spin
Their walkback didn't say shit, the simulcast rule is pretty cut and dry. I'd fucking love to see them actually follow through with that horseshit and ban Sony, Nintendo, Xbox etc when they stream a game showcase simultaneously on twitch and youtube
that's addiction masked as entertainment tho. I mean, it's good she's not losing actual money but she's also one step closer to doing so than she should be. gambling is the most destructive, dangerous, deadliest addiction out there. healthy thing to do would be to push her eyes elsewhere before she actually is gambling and you end up with a serious problem. I mean hell, you're talking about the actual reason Kick exists is to market gambling to people to try and hook them.
You aren’t wrong. But plenty of people can and do gamble without being addicted. If she sits down at a slot with $300 and can sit at machines for 7 hours and say she had a good time when it’s all gone, that’s entertainment money well spent. the issue is the people who lost that initial investment, decide to pull out another $300, lose that, and then keep pulling out money
https://www.youtube.com/clip/Ugkx25B_Od7bc6mNDhSIkWI_mS9XYBz7u9kO glad to see Doc being the gigantic pissbaby he always is. I know he's got some fans here who think he can do no wrong but yea, have fun with another notch in his belt of dumb shit he says/supports. tl;dr: - school in Cali looking to acknowledge June for Pride month. people showed up in support. - counter-protestors (read: bigots) arrive, violently attack supporters. - someone tweets about this. - raging fucktard, anti-vaxxer, and general dude bro chucklefuck Nickmercs gives his opinion in reply to the tweet saying "They should leave the little kids out of it. That’s the real issue." - Twitter blues rally in support of anti-LGBT take from said chucklefuck, others push back. - Nick goes live, doubles down. - COD company pulls Nick's skin from the game - Doc uninstalls and says he won't reinstall until COD gives the skin back and apologizes.
Doc's gimmick at first was really entertaining in the early days of pubg but the more he abandoned the character it became apparent how much he sucked; a whiny baby who dabbles in conspiracy theories and is a complete piece of shit
I lost a brother less than a year ago due to health issues from long term drug abuse so yea I guess that's a hill I'll hop on. Gambling addiction can be really bad but saying it's more deadly than drug abuse is just wrong.
sorry to hear it, but gambling addiction is widely considered the deadliest because it has by multiple times the intentional death rate of other addictions just thought it was a weird thing to get rankled on when it's not really wrong
Only using suicides and ignoring accidental drug overdoses is very disingenuous. Gambling does not cause more deaths than drugs/alcohol.
I'm amazed at how people will fuck up their money just to be hateful to people that have never done a damn thing to them.
I shouldn’t be, but I’m amazed at how many people are backing him. he is falling for a RWNJ conspiracy that LGBTQ are grooming kids.
None of this should be surprising. Nick is the one who said he’d throw a maskless party when twitch announced you had to wear masks to twitchcon San Diego last year
