This seems like a reasonable compromise?

 

Setting aside the obvious preference for USOC to be above LC but which is not going to happen.

 

I put in the MLS thread it’s lame KC only gets 2 cup games this year (Miami will instantly eliminate them from CCC). But it’s just a rare occasion where a bottom of table team falls ass backwards into the CCC. Honestly though, the SKC2 kids probably have a better shot than the first team.
