just spent $100+ on ucf nat'l champ gear. not even mad. probably have spent near a grand last couple months on ucf related things. crazy.
Do we know how many people were there? I love the cell phone flashlights for Hitt, anyone know why he wasn't there? I'm constantly worried for that man's health, he looks more stooped over every time I see him
EDIT - Nevermind I see it on twitter. http://ucf.shoptruespirit.com/webap...&topCatId=70037&storeId=88316&narrowByPrice=0 Also someone mentioned getting a coffee cup the other day, have not seen one on the official site yet, anyone else seen that somewhere?
UCF has a chance to make the top 4 if they swap out the FCS team for a kickoff type game. Some name school that always gets preseason hype but is typically pretty bad would be ideal. I'd rather risk a loss than coast to another NY6 and hear about not playing anyone all year again.
I can get down with that but I don't think they would agree to a game. They have B-CU on the schedule. Miami Pitt and UNC wins would make us ACC champs basically right. We could claim that one too.
We blocked Nebraska I guess but he can walk on anywhere. I hope he ends up just paying for tuition and playing for Frost but I understand why it has to be blocked. #Nebraska Cornhuskers Does anyone know anything about this kids family. Do they have the money?
You blocked Nebraska? That is pretty fucked up, we don’t even play. Why would you block the kid’s home state school? His family lives in Nebraska so he would get in state tuition, they could easily afford it. I would assume the only question is if he wants to go to Nebraska or somewhere where there would be a higher chance of him winning the starting job.
I would understand if for any of your other players, you don’t want Nebraska trying to raid your roster. But this is a kid from Nebraska whose dad played for Nebraska. His situation seems to be a little different. Just seems really petty.
It actually didn't have to be. Understanding why it was done, sure. There's no reason it HAD to be done.
I am sure Frost and White had an agreement when he left to not poach any current players so it was never going to happen. If Martinez is good then him transferring there won't be helpful anyhow. I bet he drops down to CUSA or something.
I guess the concern could be players taking UCF to court stating “why does he get an exception but not me?”
Agree. These things always work the same way. If he wants to transfer to Nebraska and this goes public, UCF will cave because a University limiting the student athlete’s freedom is a bad look and the school always caves when everyone calls them out on it. I also could see him heading to a smaller school instead of Nebraska as well. Or his family just saying they don’t care and paying the in state tuition for a year instead of making a big deal out of it.
Coaches who block transfers have some issues. I’ve worked for one and it’s just fucking selfish. Coaches do whatever the fuck they want, while kids pay consequences.
Excited to see what Mack has in the 2nd half of many games next year. Guessing we bring in a QB now this class.
But aside from the block, I don’t really care if Vedral comes here or not. The only year it would be nice is 2018 and he won’t be eligible then anyway. I know his numbers were pretty salty in blowouts this year, how did he actually look to you guys who watched games early in the season when he played? I remember not being overly impressed with him in HS.
He was fine. Don't think he made any huge mistakes. True fresh playing in 4th quarters of blowouts is hard to gauge. He didn't suck. Honestly don't see any reason Neb should waste a scholarship on him with bringing 2 guys this year and maybe some more in the next class.
I felt like he was OK. Nothing special. I remember hoping they made him the backup and Mack was actually better so they redshirted him to get 2 years between him and Milton.
Coaches who move jobs and poach kids from their old team could be called selfish too The bolded part I agree 100% with and should be rectified somehow
Just going to pretend like there's not more to this specific situation? Doesn't seem like the proper description of what's going on here at all.
huskers, we were doing so much better together, I almost forgot about the month before our bowl game national championship win has he even come out and said he want's to transfer to Nebraska? I know it's shocking, but maybe he wants to go somewhere else anyway
there is always more to situations. we had a lineman transfer sit out this year because he wanted to come home and be near his sick dad. he applied for a waiver and got denied. he had more to his situation too. sometimes choices have consequences, it's called life
Personally, I'm more interested in the rationale and defense of the move on your administration's part. As 20/20/20/20 stated, most of us are indifferent when it comes to him joining our program. If he wants to go elsewhere, awesome. If he wants to come to Nebraska, what justification is there for you guys to block it?
the fact that you hired our coach and it was announced during our conference championship game. We aren't Nebraska's farm team
no but he had to sit out a year, his choice had a consequence. Vedral could still go to Nebraska, he will just have to get a cornhusker education for a year before joining the team, his choice has a consequence
And the player in question never would have been in Orlando without the home state connection that no longer is in place, so what does that have to do with this farm team concept you’ve pulled out of thin air? First part sounds like pettiness. You guys still don’t think Scott handled this about as well as he possibly could?
