Also USF finally going to sell naming rights to the Sundome for 5 years, 400k per year. We got 7 years, $3.95 mill (565k ish a year) in 2013 when the economy wasn't as strong. They really need to get a new AD, they are floundering.
Want to start your day with some bullshit? http://www.orlandosentinel.com/opinion/os-ed-first-amendment-donald-de-la-haye-20180319-story.html Basically his lawyers say UCF should have risked the entire season by fighting for him, even though he wouldn't file any suit himself. Not sure why they aren't suing the NCAA if they have issues with the rules.
UCF and the NCAA didn't infringe on his ability to make videos. He could have always said anything he wanted. They said you can't get paid, so lawsuit is dumb.
https://www.youtube.com/user/crushedrib19 This dude is a basketball player at BYU and has some of his videos monetized. Much less popular but the NCAA rule is dumb but it should be applied across all athletes if they are going to care about it.
I read another article that says they can't sue the NCAA as it is a private company while UCF is a public entity.
I'm sure there's a reason behind that but on the surface my first question is why can I sue wal mart or any other private company then?
As far as the strength and conditioning program, any notable differences going from Zach Duval to Kurt Schmidt? "That we're going to run a lot," Moore said. "We ran a lot every day. It was way different. We trust the process. I feel a lot of people cut weight we didn't need and got faster... a lot of running to get ready for Coach Heup's offense. Faster?
I forget which site I got it (I think fanatics) but you can google it (UCF Peach Bowl DVD) and find it all over the place now. Even Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/2018-CFP...5035&wl11=online&wl12=732093547&wl13=&veh=sem
http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...ghts-begin-new-football-era-undefeated-season Yeah I'm sold on the new coaches.
Talked with friends of the Boudreaux's. They said the players love the coaches. So that was good to hear.
So from the interviews I've read so far the only difference in the offense is Heup likes to throw deep more? Yes please.
who is going to go up and get the Tre'quan passes? Gabe? Most of the deep balls were guys running open up the middle a lot so I'm not worried. But a lot of balls relied on the NFL guy going up to get it.
Snelson went after a few balls last year and had several impressive catches, he might not be as tall or have the range Smith did, but I do not see a huge drop off. I am more worried about who will be playing TE than replacing Smith.
Yeah look at the jump Snelson made last season during the season. I expect to see jumps in productivity from Davis, Williams, Anderson from freshman to sophomore season. Then you can maybe add guys like Payton, Greene, Bargnarie in the fold and as much as I love Tre'quan I dont think we will miss him too much.
To be fair saying you really only have one position on offense, and it's TE, you really worry about replacing is pretty amazing from such a prolific offense. Akins is the only TE I think we miss because he was a grown man playing against boys. Hopefully Roberson and Hescock are able to step in and play. Frost has an eye for offensive talent so my hope is he found 2 guys as his parting gift.
So we are now down both guards and our starting LT from last season with Jake Brown gone. I assume Boudreaux is a plug in with Hudanick at guard. Hopefully we can find a LT.
did we have injuries, transfers, or is this regarding people who graduated? I haven't been following spring yet.
Evans our LT that didnt play in the Peach Bowl and Dickey both graduated. Jake Brown who started games at LG during the season and LT in the peach bowl just decided to move on with his life I guess.
Interested to hear the results coming out of Pro Day today, have to imagine this will be one of the most well-attended years ever from NFL scouts/gm's/etc.
I guess that makes sense. Not every guy was "Fast" from the GOL days who may have filled spots but now that more Frost guys are coming up - it would make sense if they are physically faster
That's my take as well. We were really only ranked 58th in terms of plays per game last year, tons of room to improve. Heupel should be similar just lots more straight line speed and deep balls which fans are going to love.
“To be honest, I didn’t even think it was possible to go any faster until I saw what Coach Heupel got installed,” Hayes said. “It’s crazy to see how good we’re going to be this year.” http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/ucf-knights/knights-notepad/os-sp-ucf-football-0403-story.html
My guess is a cop since they have been hammering campus with a “see something, say something” campaign recently. Seems like a good ploy to see how many people will actually say something if they see something unusual...like a grown man in a rat costume
