Yulp. And with Heup loading up on OL right now.. this offense is going to be pretty unstoppable, I think. Frosts was more fun to watch but kinda had that high risk / high reward feel to it.
Agreed. I liked watching Frosts offense more but I enjoy that Heup’s offense is all business and just works with bruising and brutal efficiency
If Mack's version of the offense is bombs away paired with that rushing attack then it can be the best looking (or most entertaining anyway) it's been
I was never nuts about having Lebby on staff because of his role in the Baylor stuff, even if he was on the periphery of it all. I just wanted nothing to do with any of those people. We have Heup. I could not care less if we lose our QB coach.
Yeah no way anyone signs it outside the bottom feeders in the league. There are like 6 teams who prob think they could get into the next round of expansion and they aren't giving it up.
Can someone post the article? I forgot to renew my monthly $3.99 membership at the Sports Business Daily in the link.
What is a grant of rights again... forgotten since last round of expansion. Basically that we forfeit for a certain term of time all media money we receive, even if that money is coming from the big xii deal or something? Effectively taking millions away from us for years if we leave?
One of the UCF commits(Mcgriff)Frost flipped on his way out the door is transferring. I think it safe to say Frost’s recruiting in Florida is probably not going the way he had hoped when he left.
Frost was never going to be a real big threat to our recruiting. Especially with the 2 signing periods being heavy during cold/snow times in Neb. He has to make serious inroads to Texas to win there.
I don't see him being able to get away with doing that other thing that we do at Nebraska. I don't think recruits would find it as impressive and I'll leave it at that.
He had a name here and he took some Florida guys with him. You gotta think he was hoping for more than a giant goose egg when it came to Florida recruiting.
I’m convinced that is why we hired Randy Shannon. Frost and his crew opened up those in roads to south Florida that George let break down. There was concern that those in roads would go to Nebraska with Frost. Randy was the answer
I was gonna ask if UCF opposed neutral sir games. Seems like the best option to get some P5 games on the schedule going forward.
We’ve tried but usually the other school wants their own home game AND the neutral site game with no return home game for us. They also try to keep most of the gate revenue for the neutral. Fuck that. We have bills to pay and make 3 million per home game. That may be nothing to most P5’s, but when you make 2 million off your tv contract, you have to find revenue. And it’s not fair to our season ticket holders to have only five home games with no marquee names. I think a lot of that gets lost on the “you should play anyone, anywhere, any time” crowd.
We’re all about neutrals if it doesn’t totally wreck the schedule. We had a kickoff game against Penn State just a few years ago. 2014 I think? UCFs in a tough spot - we’re trying to get invited to be a bigger conference. We’ve missed out in the past due to facilities so we built facilities. We then missed out in part due to lack of season tickets/support, so now they schedule more appealing games at home. Both are connected in that they require bigger brands to travel to our stadium. Now that we have great facilities and are 95% sold out on seasons, we’re told those aren’t important and we need to be willing to never play at home again. The good news for us is it seems to be mostly noise. Despite ESPN’s narrative we’ve played more P5s over the last ten years than Boise, and we’re signing home/homes with teams like Stanford (who has been far more relevant than UF lately).
The Penn State was a home game that PSU was trying to buy out of after we beat them at home the year before, so we let Ireland buy the game instead.
A UCF/Bama kickoff game would be way more interesting than louisville/bama. It'd make way more money too.
They are 8-2 with both losses close. I haven't seen anything to suggest that the preseason pick to win the AAC is inaccurate. I expect to be a 7 seed.
