Sorry for my ineptness... http://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/goat-drive-thru-prank.119062/ I linke the thead, but there are several vids that are well worth watching. The one showing the mall is the compilation about 8 mins long.
tulsa already turned down a football-only invite, hence tulane. they will only go for all-sports. money and the all-sports invite will probably be what takes them to the big east or mountain west or if the deals suck they'll stay in c-usa. nothing's final yet so don't get too upset just yet.
so here is some info that a extremely well-connected buddy of mine (those who have been to the Tulsa board know him as Gold*) sent me after a meeting with the University Executive VP. Looks like we are probably headed y'alls way. TU has the choice between MWC or Big East (likely > to be renamed). We are very likely going east. > TU will have to pay $7,000,000 to leave C-USA and another > $5,000,000 to join the Big Whatever. The coaches, > other than McIntosh (men's soccer), want to go east. No one wants to > play in the altitude.
Would be it too cokeslurpee of me to post an album cover of Peaches & Herb's immortal 1978 hit, "Reunited" ?
I just think the league make the most sense (and can keep the big east name) by going: usf, ucf, tulane, houston, smu, tulsa, ecu, temple, memphis, cincy, uconn, navy (fb only). 12 teams. eastern based (at least enough to keep big esat name without going full retard). lil bit better than old cusa. I just don't think that any west schools add anything. will be interesting to see how long it takes for uconn to bolt, but I really don't think they have another option for a few years. just shows how powerful football is compared to hoops. it would also be prob be best to split this league strategically instead of geographically.
Don't see how Tulsa adds enough money to the deal to be worth adding other than just needing a 12th team. Guess we don't really have any better options left though.
Also our status as one of the up and comers in college football. We are clearly the boise replacement.
Was hoping BYU being shut out of the new system would force them to join but looks like they are too proud to do that.
This could have been so much easier if UCONN and Cincy just decided to join CUSA then bail on us later like they'll eventually do.
CUSA without the shit (plus Tulane) is what we've got, plus a natural rival. I'll take it and hope things get stable for 2-3 years and hope next round has FSU/Miami going somewhere else so we can get to the next level.
Not sure if you guys have ever seen this video, but someone at UCF made a parody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-88LTsh9m4s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OF4XtGJNtu8
love the math and physics bathroom shot. Chan we got 3 on campus then 1 next to starbucks across the street and another next to that convenience store in front of the pita pit shopping center. Fucking ridiculous.
that's a lot of subways. Also since I know a lot you were interested, we won our season opening coed-8v8 soccer game at Tinker Field last night 2-0. but the real reason I wanted to bring this up was the great wether, it's been a while since were able to play on green grass in January and in to play in shorts. In fact there were more than one recently graduated coed playing in their sports bras last night....suck it northeners.
Tulsa finished 18th in final Director's Cup standings for 2012. All the more impressive because we only play one sport more than the minimum required to stay D1. Where did you guys finish?
Don't try to inflate your schools prowess with frivolous things like Directors Cup standings that mean nothing or championships. The true worth of a schools athletic department is judged by 2 simple things....how severe your NCAA sanctions are and the amount of internet fans you got.
Pretty sure one of those was by moes and the other is by where the pub used to be. On campus they have one in the union and one by the arena (i think). EDIT: Guess there is 3 now. I havent been on campus (sober) in a long time.
i remember being in there freshman year and i walk in and some dude's pissing in that circular sink. the weird part was i didn't see the urinals in there and so i thought it was a circular trough or something and so i went immediately to a stall cuz i didn't wanna piss directly across from the guy. it's weird because i didn't go back there because i didn't wanna see a dude's junk peeing in the middle of the room again and then one time i mentioned it and someone told me it was a sink and the urinals were off to the side. it blew my mind to realize that that dude was just weird and i was dumb.
