HotMic took your post and put it in the Friday night game thread so I thought it was about UC and tonight’s game. When I clicked on it to reply to it I was brought to this thread.
Lose by 3 with all of those turnovers and awful misses. This team is absolutely talented enough to be 6-0 again. Just abysmal QB play on the road when it matters and coaches that are too stubborn to adjust. And yet still lose the 2 games by combined 4 points.
Unbelievable. DG does not have a single play in the playbook in the redzone? The playcalling was like me playing madden. Same 4 plays over and over knowing it has worked before and hoping its gonna work again.
We have plenty of talent. It's the same players that went undefeated 2 years ago and undefeated last year minus the QB. We had like 3 total close games in that time. Blew everyone out. Defense is fine but offense play calling is all sorts of fucked up.
I still do but he is 18 and was obviously flustered. Why you don’t put in Mack or even wimbush for a series and let DG see it from the sideline to clear his head for a series is asinine
This will sound stupid but I think you guys will benefit from Gabriel struggling this year. If ucf is successful it’s because the qb is all world. You need to prepare him for it. Throw him in the fire
That’s the rub. You can go back 30 pages and see me posting that unless DG is that much heads and shoulders above Wimbush, Wimbush has the game experience and DG should sit and learn. If Wimbush had been our starter this whole time would be in any different spot then we are now? DG is the future, he will be a star for us, but he has some learning to do.
I can answer this for you, no Wimbush would not have made it better. He was a liability at Nd when teams figured out he could not throw
i agree but I hope that shit like tonight doesn’t shake him up and be detrimental to his progress. He was 20 feet from me tonight on the sideline and very obviously feeling out of his element
I don’t think he would have either. I mean that with him starting, we still beat FAMU, FAU, and UCONN, and we still lose to Pitt and Cincy. We in the same spot we are currently. The only difference is the 18 year old is using a redshirt year to adjust to college (football and life) and isn’t getting hammered for his play while adjusting and hopefully not becoming a head case for it
wimbush should never play qb again at ucf unless all 3 other qb's are hurt. mack should start. DG everyone will agree is going to be great but could definitely use a year on the sideline or mop up duty. at the end of the day mack won us a championship and kept us in it till the end with LSU. he has big game experience and all around is a better more well rounded choice. DG is too raw at this point and while the big play is always a threat, he is making poor choices and can't handle teams with a pulse. He will be the future, but for now i'd like him on the sideline or AT LEAST switched out much quicker when things go sour. getting wins > learning.
We’ve lost 3 games by 11 points in the last year. Coaching lost the last 2. Heupel comes off as a stubborn idiot by refusing to make in game adjustments.
Its pretty simple. It was obvious to every single person watching except Heup that Gabriel was rattled and yet he kept them in there. I don't know what he was thinking. That loss will keep us out of the conf champ game, the top 25, and any important bowl. It was huge and he blew it yet again. Next year doesn't matter when you have a ton of talent. He needs to be less stubborn or leave.
So you saw our freshman QB rattled and threw multiple interceptions including a pick 6, and lose by 3 and still are like “ucf got destroyed?”
Young and quickly successful probably makes your head very big. Confidence is good but stubbornness is very frustrating.
Couple thoughts. 1) not having DG redshirt this season could be interesting if it opens the door for him to do so NEXT season with a returning KZ. And if there’s one guy DG would be ok sitting for next year, it’s him. Would be cool if KZ also convinced Gabe to stay. 2) I wouldn’t count out the division just yet. Credit them for playing a freshman qb and doing the things needed to rattle him...but cincy doesn’t look like a team ready to run the table. They will lose to Houston, Memphis, or temple. 2 of those are on the road. It’s just a matter of seeing if they drop 2 of the 3.
putting Skyline Chili in my mouth today was a bigger mistake than leaving DG in for the entire game last night
Shit is trash, also last night hurt. Worse part was having some cunt Texas fan talk shit to me and my friends the entire game. Fucking losers.
