Yea the way he tanked things in the winless season created the ecosystem for the hard reset we had. Otherwise, we probably have Key for three or four years followed by some shitty retread in the same vein as George.
I think that USF game was the first I rewatched a game with Milton as QB. Was hard to watch at first but lmao @ USF fuck them bitches.
The last half quarter is just wild. We score 3 times and they score once with like 9 mins left. Electric
That 2017 USF/UCF game is probably the best football game I’ve ever seen. Not just UCF game, or college game, or game I’ve seen live; the best game I’ve ever seen. It was like being on a 4 hour roller coaster
I hope Flowers went in the locker room after that game and beat some ass. He almost beat us singlehandedly. if not for his teammates racking up almost 200 yards of dumbass penalties, he would have.
Having a full day of UCF football On an ESPN station pissed off college football so bad they are just going to cancel the season. Bigger than a natty, made college football’s ass quit.
So my son still watches our peach bowl DVD in my car. So I've heard the audio a million times. What stuck out to me repeatedly is how often they talked about "well gosh I hope UCF can withstand this Auburn physicality!" As if UCF was playing a different sport this whole time and meanwhile that 2017 team had NFL talent all over it.
It’s so obvious that the color guy did literally zero game prep on us. There are time he sounds annoyed he has to even call this game
One of my favorite moments ever in UCF Football, the stadium was definitely at peak bounciness that day
I don’t know that any football moment will ever make me feel the way I did when Hughes returned that kick for a TD. Chequan’s pick six is probably my #2.
It will forever be my favorite moment because I was there with my dad and my son. I almost killed the kid hugging him after Mike scored. I just kept chanting "Oh my god" the entire runback and then praying there were no flags. Took a couple days to get my voice back after that one.
I’d like to throw in watching Godfrey catch the TD to win the Louisville game as a Top 5 moment (maybe #3). TableKnight everyone at GB probably thought we were nuts.
I watched that one at Frank N Stein's downtown, one of my favorite not in person watching experiences, just seeing all the Louisville players and that shitstick Charlie Strong be dumbfounded when we won was amazing.
Not in any order... Hughes TD Godfrey TD OT interception vs Memphis Burkett interception Ross TD vs USF Burnett punt return tearing down goalposts vs Marshall Probably something in the 2005 season
I was at that game with my former boss (huge UCF guy). The Louisville people around us went from being super nice and welcoming into some of the nastiest people I’ve ever been around. We had a blast though.
The hail merry knockdown at the liberty bowl where we beat UGA and then the skies just opened up is in my top 5 but that’s largely cuz I was born and raised hating UGA. Marshall goalposts was just so great. Beating Baylor may be my long-term fave mostly because it was the beginning of the end of my first marriage; my ex moved out to California with me the same day and she was pissed I needed to watch the game and I was pissed she was pissed.
Same experience. They were super bitter. I remember Charlie strong in the post game presser saying the better team lost that game. Bunch of sore losers
JJ's catch against Temple to save the season is on that list somewhere too. Burnett's TD return and 24K's ridiculous run against Tulsa are up there as well.
Well there's "best plays" but then there's the ones that made me feel the most elated. The JJ catch is a top play but that was way more relief feeling than anything. Plus I didn't celebrate right away because I didn't think there was any chance it was actually going to stand until they showed a replay.
yeah good point. I thought it was good from the start because the default camera angle was actually pretty good but it easily could have hit the turf
charlie said the same thing after the 2017 game too, it must suck for him to keep losing to a lesser UCF wherever he goes
Let's say they cancel the season... Does everyone get a free covid-redshirt. Giving Milton another year to recover
Seems like an easy yes since no one played, ostensibly for medical reasons, but schools aren't going to want to pay for that extra year for everyone. The other question is, will juniors who would have been draft-eligible after this year still be considered that way if they don't play?
The rule is just 3 years removed from hs so I don’t see the NFL or NCAA saying no for someone to go to the draft. It’s no different than taking the year off to train
On paper our best team. Although not sure more than a guy or two would leave to try to go pro if given another year of eligibility.
yeah, we will be mostly back intact in 2021. Not worried, sucks that we will have such a long time without UCF football though.
I actually am starting to think UCF is going to be part of a group that just plays no matter what. Theres no one to hold any of these people accountable for reckless decisions and everyone from the fans to the players to the governors to the president wants football back so long term health risks are just whatever. The season is going to be a mess and logistically impossible to manage but I now think they are going to force it to happen, i didnt think this was the case 1 week ago.
