all true. They are too stupid to do it, but the first thing they should be doing is calling BYU and Boise State, both national brands even though they are in shit markets, then UCF and Cincinnati for the upside plays.
I would be more worried if Danny White was still AD ..he pissed a lot of people off. Terry seems better connected
Well this will just end everything. It's the euro super league but actually happening and imagine the advantage of NIL playing in this league vs literally anywhere else
Yeah because if the 4 team playoff has shown us anything it’s that most college football fans really liked seeing 4 of the same like 6 teams play each other every year.
Thought the same. If they want a super league then they also have some cleaning to do which can the free up a couple more spots for a USC or whomever.
looking forward to the SEC imploding in a few years after texas ruins them like every other conference they've always thrown their weight around in. Spoiler i don't actually believe that'll happen
idk if it is me just gradually liking pro sports more and becoming more apathetic to CFB but all the noise with conference moving gets old fast. hopefully UCF ends up in a stable spot and all these powers don’t try to stop the 12 team playoff bc that would draw me back
2(maybe 4) teams have a chance to win the title each year. The parity in college football is embarrassing and needs to change or what the point if you aren’t Bama or Clemson?
I saw the news about OU and Texas but haven’t paid attention beyond that…what’s the best theory in what happens to the rest of the B12? They replace or the other teams get poached by non sec leagues? If the playoff is expanding I’m overwhelmingly in favor of staying in the AAC. It’s actually getting kind of fun now with Cincy and Memphis.
I’d want to move up if we can. Tired of getting coaches(except Huepel) and AD’s poached and want stability even if it seems Gus has been there done that in the SEC and commuted to staying.
Athletic says ESPN and the AAC are talking about taking the B12 down. I don't hate that. Take WVU and TCU and anyone but Baylor and lets roll.
No way Florida wants Florida State in the SEC. I can see them advocating for Louisville or VA Tech first.
Long term I get that FSU is probably the second best value behind Clemson, assuming Norvell can turn things around. But right now I agree UNC looks better.
If the B1G expands in the future they should head south. UNC and UVA or GT make a lot of sense for them.
If there are still multiple viabale conferences no but if you're making a super league you want the FSU game.
This will be my only source of rumors throughout. I've been through realignment too many times to bother hunting down every rumor just to see it fall on its face yet again. Looking forward to CNN reporting it when it happens and avoiding bloggers till then.
We're going to join a "bigger" conference only for the bigger teams to leave 3 hours later again aren't we?
I don’t know, I’ve seen some of these “bigger conferences are calling” tweets and a bunch of “Join the Dungeon to find out” tweets. Is there anything going on thats actually news worthy in the Dungeon right now?
idk would think the 247 UCF guy Jason would be talking about it if there was any real smoke ..think he has better sources than Rivals on stuff like realignment
It is official, they are leaving. Now we wait for the inevitable hemming and hawing by B12 leadership while the other good schools get picked off by other conferences. I have absolutely zero confidence that the remaining schools and their leaders will do the smart thing to save their conference. If they can't merge with the Pac12, I have a feeling they will just watch as it all falls apart instead of trying to add teams to save what is left. They have proved all along to be recklessly incompetent, I see no other outcome here.
I’m other news, did we get a naming sponsor for our stadium? Are we going to get papa Elon to name our stadium and join the ACC in the same week?
It’s so funny to see the role reversal. 15 years ago we were trying to hitch our wagon to USF as a package deal, now they are trying to hitch on to us
Now in other news... Big XII out for blood for OU & Texas making sure they pay every dime. Meanwhile ESPN working their AAC contract and back channels to grab 3-5 Big XII teams. What a wild summer. This is strictly between ESPN and FOX at this point. UCF is on the right side of ESPN. We may be the southern flagship of the "Big American 16"
