Basically everyone is off. Been a crazy last 10-15 games so probably not much left in the tank. Plus TCU a bunch of flopping ass bitches.
WashPo did an article today for some reason on the lazy river. Makes me feel good about the vision of our admin vs USF if re-alignment ever occurs again. https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...b7f5c8-1568-11e7-833c-503e1f6394c9_story.html
Flying in today for a convention. Any new bars or restaurants I need to try? Haven't spent much time in Orlando in the last 3-4 years.
Bored this morning so actually looked up those basketball transfers that will be playing next year. So we are getting a pure PG in Allen, a 3 pt specialist 6'4 guard in Griffin, a 6'11 Lithuanian, and Aubrey Dawkins on top of some decent recruits. That's a really good team on paper.
Sp after winning the series against #11 Houston, what's our outlook ROS in baseball? Are we a top 3 team in the league? NCAA chances?
Not too bad an outlook. We get Bozeman back at SS this week, so that's pretty big for us. He was basically given the award for best defensive player in JUCO before coming to UCF. After he went out, our defense has been really bad, and it's lost us at least one or two games. He has a decent bat that contribute a little too. Our pitching staff is about as good as it's been in a long time. No single overpowering guy, but the staff in general is very good, and our staff ERA is top 5 in the nation. Our bats are the problem, and we really don't have a ton of pop in the lineup and are mostly a station to station type team. If we don't make the regional, that will be why. In terms of the AAC, I think we're in contention for top 3 in the conference, we have a chance to win the tournament if the bats get hot. If we make a regional, it will probably be as a borderline 2-3 seed. RPI presently in the 30's and 40's, and this series against USF coming up will be a pretty big indicator of what to expect the rest of the way. I was very surprised we took down Houston in the series last weekend.
I think he will be back. I'd imagine he gets a late first round grade and another year of post moves and conditioning would move him into the lottery pick area.
i never even considered he might leave, i can't imagine him playing in the NBA in a year's time. At least one more year of college ball will do him a world of good.
Not a fan unless they bring in enough money to pay for the extra travel expenses of sending soccer and shit to the middle of nowhere.
I mean Wichita will bring the league NCAa basketball credits that are worth millions and further legitimizes the conference so we can possibly get more NCAA bids.
So should I get excited about everyone saying the offense looks good or is the def just getting worse?
Everything I have heard is Milton is still the clear #1. I also heard a sound byte the other day where frost was talking up DiNovo too so...there is that
ugh, DiNovo? I can believe that Milton makes a big jump in his second year, we've seen that happen in the past. But we've seen nothing from DiNovo. I am hoping some of the new recruits are good enough to push for 2nd/3rd string.
That's nothing new with DiNovo, he has always been said to look really good in practice. I doubt Scott falls for it like George did, I'm thinking he is just trying to drum up some more competition
Milton is the only real QB we have in spring. Everyone who has given an interview has said that Milton has had an incredible spring and looks a lot better. They have all also universally said that TreQuan looks like a beast, Richie Grant looks really good, Brandon Moore looks really good, and that (believe it or not) the OL has been so much better thus far. If it was just CSF and a few kids doing the usual talking points stuff, I would dismiss it, but they're all giving the same reports. So unless they were coached to say the same names look good and the OL looks good...I'm inclined to think that the OL may have stepped up.
Yeah OL getting better almost had to happen considering how bad they were. If they can get to just above average and Milton can pick things up there is a lot of skill position talent.
If the OL makes any sort of significant improvement, that alone will make Milton's play much better regardless of if he has improved his own game (which hopefully he has). Our OL was total dog shit last year
I think people underestimate just how much worse Milton played in the second half of the season once Hudanick went down and Milton had the leg/ankle injury (and supposedly he also had an elbow injury going on or something like that too). He wasn't incredible, but I think about how he looked against Maryland, and he really wasn't THAT bad other than the stupid fumbles, which were mostly corrected after that game.
Have you guys ever done any escape rooms? What were some fun things you had to do in them? Were there any boring puzzles?
I've done two. I typically just stay on sidelines and let others handle the puzzles cuz it gets too hectic with 6 people in a small room with 5 different puzzles going on at once. One by UCF had a 60s Russian spy with a nuke theme which was cool. You're in a 60s hotel room and have to solve some puzzles that unlock a secret bunker with the nuke in it. Gotta then disarm the nuke.
I did that one while visiting actually. It was pretty cool. The tech in there was pretty nice. Did you escape? My wife and I are starting one where we live but we're building a room into a cargo trailer and focusing on corporate events and fairs. It wouldn't do well in Orlando I think with the dozens of rooms you have there but here in the Midwest it's still a newish thing and many of these rural towns don't have any within a half hour. We're putting all the puzzles in a flowchart now and it's a real pain in the ass trying to make this fun and challenging but easy enough that people can get out.
Never thought about it but I would imagine putting them together would be hard. Should look into getting some shipping containers so you can always add on new rooms if need be.
Awesome. Yeah we escaped and I think were a minute off from record. But I had little to do with that. I can't remember puzzles at all so no help here, sorry.
We got a 24' climate controlled trailer so we don't need a CDL to transport it but we looked into doing that. We'll be a shortened room of 40 min and only 3-6 maximum. Creating puzzles and tech that works is sort of a pain in the ass though yeah.
Apparently AAC apparel exists. Come on by the tennis campus to get your AAC coffee mugs and tennis championship shirts!!
Didn't have any fucks to give about going today, but those helmets are pretty sick and pretty much what I've been wanting for the last like 3 seasons
We've had so many helmets now I've lost track. I didn't even realize the ones from yesterday we anything new.
