Big 12 was actually playing some decent defense this past season. Baylor and Okie Lite I feel like did a good job on defense.
Remember when beating Memphis in basketball felt like the end game ultimate achievement for UCF basketball?
So Memphis was pretty good, 9-5 up to that point. Aside from Houston, there's no one else on the schedule that we should be expected to lose to right?
Wichita State away is always tough. We also have Memphis away game that we could easily lose. We are projected to lose both of those away games and twice to Houston. 20-8 overall record projected.
Memphis was also missing 4 players (1 has been out almost the whole season) including their best player ( leads in scoring and 2nd in rebounds). But it was still a good win vs a top team and we needed to have it.
That's what the smoke is. We should know very soon. FWIW a few UM accounts are saying the same thing about the DL.
I haven’t been paying too close attention, but USC lost both QBs to the portal? Why would you not want to be QB in a Lincoln system?
Seems like a lot of guys are just trying to get paid on NIL deals and screwing themselves long term. Its going to settle down eventually but some kids are going to get crushed by the portal and NIL. And maybe he is getting Caleb to come with him so they would be out of a job?
Yeah true. No telling what went on behind the scenes. I would definitely play for the guy that has a recent track record of Baker, Kyler, and CW and get that first round money.
I think kids are panicking with new coaches and the uncertainty of where they stand. Imagine just getting a new boss at your job and the feeling they want to bring in their own people. You may look for a new job. The portal just makes it so easy now to feel like its a good idea to leave.
I am a little surprised how easily some of these guys are moving on where they don’t care about the social ties they have formed on a campus. DG for example I don’t see enjoying the demo of Oklahoma’s campus
Would love to see Jaxson Dart go there and take the starting job. DG sitting on the bench at Oklahoma when he thought he was going pro after this season would just be :chef's kiss:
If you are a starting QB somewhere you better damn well be sure you transfer somewhere you will be 100% the starter.
These kids (and their families) are dumb as hell most of the time. For example, Ja'Cyais Credle left UCF because he was mad that he wasn't getting enough snaps behind Marlon Williams, Tre Nixon, Jacob Harris, etc. He goes to Georgia State where he's the #4 WR anyway. He probably could have been getting a ton of playing time this year for UCF now and into the future, but he thought he was too damn good to not be the #1 WR at UCF.
That’s why him going to UCLA was so puzzling. Hopefully he gets paid some NIL money cause I doubt he’s anything more than a late round pick in the draft.
I have liked the trend of the program and I don't want to over react but it sure seems like we can't play up to our talent way too much. Maybe it is time to move off Dawkins.
Can't disagree but like Mix said, with the upcoming move and the cred he got from the tourney run, he's going to get at least a couple more years.
It's tough because he has assembled a really good team and we've seen them play very very well. So he's done a lot of good and miles above DJ. But you just can't feel good about season-fucking performances
For a while I thought the problem was the talent we had. This team is more talented than any we’ve had possibly, and we are severely underachieving. To me, that’s a JD problem.
