the argument over extra practices is a little different with the amount of turnover every year..I have had enough of watching that offense for the rest of 2025.
Yeah he’s kind of been a bit of a letdown. Solid contributions when healthy but I was expecting NFL level talent based off his recruitment.
still a guy you don’t want to lose but yeah I thought he would become way more disruptive on the DLine. but need to know how often he was doubled.
I didn't watch too much this season but never saw him do much. Feel like lingering injury or he just isn't as good as we thought. He probably needs a change of scenery to improve too.
If I didn't watch a game live, the first thing I did after looking up the score was to check Walker's stat. Nothing. 1 sack. Granted, DTs that attract double teams on every play don't show up in stats, but the production just was not there.
Lockett, Lora, and even sometimes LeBlanc looked way more disruptive than Walker ever did. Again, some of that is double teams, but he’s an undersized DT who isn’t very good in the pass rush. Not worth seven figures.
do we have any chance getting CJ Baxter? him with 1 leg and Swint would probably be better than Montgomery was all season.
that was his brother. Brandon was hired from FAU last year..and looks like Sumrall swooped in last minute.
How little are we paying guys that you would even consider jumping to FSU knowing that you are gone in a year if FSU can find the money?
This is terrible for the sport but at this point, you either join the private equity bloodsuckers or get left behind.
USF fans think the Weatherford link is their way into the Big 12, even though most of them think they are too good for this league and are Big10 bound.
There is no logical or rational reason that college football and universities have to be as blood money hungry as every other shitty company. Just no point to any of this to keep getting more money they don’t even know how to do with.
Who the hell knows. Can’t wait for my ticket prices to skyrocket even further though. Meanwhile the academic side gets none of this. Separating athletic revenue from being able to benefit the actual university is in hindsight some of the dumbest shit
Hard to say if they'll do the classic conference schedule collapse. I imagine they will, primarily because the B12 is such a good bball conference. It's possible that it's the best team JD has put together though. Might be a little weak down low with the bigs though.
whole lot of speculation in this based just off weatherford's company. but figured i'd post regardless for those interested.
Basketball beat Texas A&M and Pitt. Got worked by Vandy in game 2 and played a bunch of nobodies. Who knows? Would be nice to have this team built around Thiam and not that African dude Bol we have down low that stinks.
Hope not bc we haven’t taken advantage of the conference move up. When you look at both programs history we are in a role reversal from when they had the conference advantage…a University President and Athletic Director that are complacent. They have urgency and are spending more money than they have to try to catch us.
Honestly id welcome them in (but not admit it) because it makes the season more interesting. Theres barely an opponent I care about right now that gets me excited the way a rival does. It’s part of the reason I care just a bit less than I used to.
They can thank us for the OCS, know someone that goes to most of their alumni booster events and it was pretty much confirmed that Weatherford came up with the OCS idea/push on his own the same weekend the UCF to the Big 12 news broke. but I don’t understand why they are building the capacity at less than 40k, that’s low for a Public U that wants in a Power Conference.
My guess at the capacity is that the seating capacity matters a lot less now than even when the Bounce House built in 2007. It is more about premium seating than total capacity. Look at Northwestern's new stadium, capacity is 35K, 12,000 less than their old stadium. South Carolina, Oklahoma, and FSU all have reduced or are in the process of reducing capacity for premium seating. Even though there are a multitude of unique issues, UCLA will move from the Rose Bowl to Sofi Stadium, mainly because there are more premium seats. The Bruins admins rationalize that if they are going to have crowds in the 50K range, it would make more money at Sofi since they would get a cut of premium seating, which the Rose Bowl does not have much of.
would be nice if the forum provided timestamps on quotes so we could see how big of a prophesizer you are.
As much as I enjoyed the run up to the game when we played, I don’t want USF to have access to big 12 tv money. Eventually NIL will normalize around revenue and athletic budget. I don’t think it’s in our best interest to have them involved in that.
This is where I’m at. I don’t necessarily like how exclusionary CFB is but it isn’t changing anytime soon so I am for whatever is best for UCF. I think if they don’t get in within the next few years they are going to have some financial issues and a lot of debt. Also if there is CFP rule changes that make it even harder for G5 to gain a spot that will hurt them even more.
I have now seen one (1) half of UCF basketball. fulks can play Bol has decent instincts but clumsy hands. Still had a couple good moments to close this game though. didn’t see too much outside shooting to know if this is a reliably shooting team.
For some reason we played Pitt on ESPN a few weeks ago and watched a half. We were able to actually shoot which has never happened.
I still figure this will be our usual non-conference rope a dope before conference play, but I'm feeling cautiously optimistic, at least to the point where I will watch more than usual
that sucks but at least Swint is staying. if he never got hurt thought he could of gave the offense more than Montgomery did.
Gage had a terrible hs tape. His recruiting rating never made sense. Crazy how our rb room went from incredible to shit so fast.
These guys keep getting our offers and then being like "well I bet you I can get another 400k if I go to an SEC school, but I'll stay here for another 300k...what do you say? And we keep telling them "okay...well good luck getting that then." So they enter the portal. This whole system is fucking idiotic.
System is broken as fuck and because all the people who could do something about it are making too much fucking money with how it is, no one cares to fix it. They are going to kill the greatest sport in history because of everyone’s mutual greed
Apparently Xavier Townsend is visiting FSU after quitting on the team because of Gus at UCF. What in the Stockholm Syndrome does Gus have on these dudes and why the fuck would he want a guy that quit on him?
Gus is a salesman I give him that, he is in his element during winter visit season but the actual season he is miserable.
