This game specifically I wish I could see a replay of the whole field. How could our WRs be completely covered, every play all game. Granted any run that got past the front line went for good yardage, so maybe they focused on covering the WRs. But the route running on that flea flicker was ::chefskiss::
Yeah would love to see that because he had to have some 1 on 1 matchups and was just scared to throw them or something.
Yea, if there’s video showing he was just missing a bunch of open receivers, then that really damages his argument to be QB1.
I have a hard time believing they are there when even on completed passes over the last 2-3 years we rarely have seen receivers in space. Definitely didn’t really see any in person vs Villanova even. We apparently make it easy to have guys at least in coverage.
Def on the coaches since they brought the players in and design the plays. Its probably more on talent than anything. Even Trequan had like 800 yards under GOL when we had nothing on offense.
Every single one of those kids wants to get paid via NIL now (rightfully), but what comes with that is a level of scrutiny and criticism that was previously frowned upon. Run backwards and out of bounds for no fucking reason, and people are going to have something to say.
there's a certain level of criticism that should be expected. things can go out of bounds easily with fans, especially online, but seriously log the hell off... you're getting paid to play well at this point in your life - and that money is coming from the fan's wallets at that. you wanna play at this level, deal with it or shield yourself from it. don't expect to get on twitter, play like shit, and have people fawning over you still.
Are there really people calling Timmy trash? Did any of those people watch JRP try to pass last year, or against Kent State?
I am pro nil but when you add in the fact that fans are now paying monthly fees for kingdomnil for example where players can transfer after 1 year how can they expect no one on the internet to say anything ?
I've been critical of Timmy. But I would like to see him play another game at least as the starter. His passes are accurate. I like how he reads the defense and makes changes at the line. I might be wrong, but I feel like he is holding back the tougher throws that I think he can make. And I think, at least in the last game, he freaks out under pressure. Baylor at home is a good measuring stick. He should be able to audible easier with the home field. And Baylor won't apply as tough a pass rush so he might feel more confident with those mid range throws.
He really only had one bad quarter in that game, and if we're being super specific, only one horrific play. He played well for his second game, on the road, in a big-time atmosphere. He choked, but.. I've seen worse.
Yeah he wasn't the only issue with the game. If specific fans are blaming him then they're just kind of dumb. Team loss on that one.
I think we can all agree though the announcer saying “he reminds me of Michael Vick if you squint a little” was objectively hilarious
Fully remote announcers are the worst. They give nothing extra to the game, they only call the exact same thing you see.
some of our fans can’t leave the G5 mindset and how stupid playing them every year would be on even terms
Yeah, I enjoyed playing them and enjoyed hating them but it’s over for now. Rivalries are fun and they probably would have moved up with us if expansion took place in 2018 or 2019 and they invested in facilities earlier. They picked an all time bad period to start sucking across all sports.
we end with win record on our side and the ironic position of us being able to tell them they're not worthy of us playing them. full circle poetic justice. i think that serves the rivalry best for the time being. if things change in the future then it adds more fuel to the fire and makes it that much better of a rivalry. but for now this is the story of the rivalry and it should remain as such.
Rivalries are good and we just beat they ass in womens soccer so hope we keep playing them in most sports, if not football. They fucked up not keeping their boot on our throats but with the divide how it is now not sure we actually need to worry about that. G5/6/7 is just not the same league anymore and its lame and sucks but just how it is.
I would like us to schedule the game in 2025 just bc it would be 20 years since our first. Other than that, I’m cool with an occasional game ala WVU Marshall or ECU and any Carolina team
Im not with you guys on this one. I think they should keep the series for the most part. East travel too for the programs and will still draw attendance. Would be an easy to drive away game. And there are plenty of annual inner state games with g5 vs p5. I think it’s a good idea to give it a 2-3 year break so we can separate ourselves but don’t see harm in keeping it going. It’s fun for the fans and players
I still want to play them every year. Because I hate them and want to beat them. Cincy still plays Miami OH. Colorado still plays CSU. TCU still played SMU ( though strangely now that they are both in power conferences they will stop playing ). I see zero reason to stop the series once the OOC schedule can get worked out. The last thing CFB needs are fewer natural rivalry games.
It’s hard to remember feeling as enraged during a sporting event as I was during last years Navy game. 3 straight runs of 3 yards and then going for it on 4th down EVERY fucking time and getting it.
guess I am in the minority in not really enjoying the USF series, it never felt like other rivalries bc of their fanbase definitely should not agree to even home games
I like fun and it was fun beating that ass. I'd still like it to happen every year. They've already lost in the realignment landscape. It's not like us playing them elevates them to a power conference even if they get a win every once in awhile. It's not really a risk to play them as far as I'm concerned.
Flying down for WVU and have Sunday free. Have been to Disney but not really anywhere else in Orlando in past 10 years. What should we do?
I have played soccer since I was 5 including semi-pro in my 20's and I have no idea how the refs can explain how that goal should not be allowed. We were robbed.
Coaches said refs told them the guy who stole the ball went out of bounds first but that's not illegal or reviewable. The sun belt out to get us.
Was there ever an explanation because I don’t get that at all unless the linesman thought the slide tackle went into the goalie from his angle. It was CLEARLY clean and there’s no way it’s offsides when the ball goes backwards
This makes no sense, players run out of bounds all the time and come back on during play without being waved on. It's not like the guy was injured and had to come back on from the sideline.
