Update from Practice today If Plumlee keeps the job, hes got dirt on Malzahn 1st pass Interception. Not one completion past 15 yards.
No surprise, but Hendricks declared for the draft. Sounds like he was giving us some props for his development on the way out though, which is hopefully helpful in the future. I'm assuming JD doesn't get fired, so anything that helps him in recruiting is useful.
I dont know why we'd fire him this year instead of in a season or three. Just a money thing, imo. We'll be able to afford something better soon. Try to get football on better footing, then basketball up next.
I can’t remember who said it a few years ago but it was someone that knew a coach in our conference personally that said ucf is pretty much maxed out in bball until we commit some money to upgrading facilities. I don’t know if they’ve done that the past few years. Maybe you get rid of JD and catch lightning in a bottle with a hire but it may not be actually going through that process until we want to commit $.
My understanding is that the AD department, as a whole, kind of runs on fumes. With donor money now being diverted to NIL the finances can only have gotten worse.
do not understand the facility argument. the bball arena is a nice venue and is nicer than our football stadium
Locker rooms and practice facility and all that. We also barely charter flights ever and our team gets stranded routinely.
The shifted practice field and new football building is funded. The rest isn't fully funded yet. And the football tower is a conceptual render. That is not the final look. I think the architects were recently hired.

It really is frustrating seeing how this tournament is going and how we had a one and done player and won just a single NIT game.
i know there's a lot of factors and like this is the perfect year for them, perfect execution, everything is rolling their way right now and this isn't "normal." i'm not saying we should be final four every year or something, but how are we not recruiting on par with them and getting into the tourney more than we have at least -- fairly consistently? a cusa team shouldn't be doing this compared to an american team. all that to say, i'm happy for them. that's gotta be an awesome feeling for their fans. peach bowl style.

I agree with the sentiment but basically this person or persons needs to justify their measly paying athletics job by engaging the fanbase so I don't think there's much of a choice these days for them and they're probably constantly having to post content.
