General consensus on rivals seems to be that he’ll be out for the year. I think everyone saw what a healthy JRP could have been last night though. It’s a big loss for us. At least we’ve got a backup with some experience. We’ll see.
If that’s the case, then the glimmer of good news is that Timmy has a game to get in sync against Nova.
So do we just assume Rizk is gonna burn his redshirt and let him get some gametime experience vs Nova in the 4th. Or let him ride the sidelines if we NEED him
hate injuries & the circumstances leading to the opportunity but I got a good feeling about McClain, remember Wendel mentioning that he had some solid interest when he entered the portal. him succeeding would create another meltdown to that school left behind.
The kid has the skills, hes got the dog in him, its putting them all together. To start 9 years as a true freshman at Division 1 school is good. Watching him there, you could see the potential, he just needed to keep maturing. They literally could have had an offense of TMC with Jimmy Horn and Xavier Weaver. And they couldn't figure out how to use them.
how many times was it posted "if he doesn't learn to slide, he's going to get injured in a few games' time" in this thread? i hate it for him but honestly he puts himself in awful positions that continually lead to him getting sidelined. i appreciate that he was putting it all on the line on the final drive but there were still multiple other occasions throughout where he was always going bruiser runner instead of sliding qb, and that's just a disaster waiting to happen... and it did.
Jimmy was going to follow TMC until Colorado through a million at him in NIL. They talked about it on the broadcast, his father being locked up. TMC father is a lawyer so I’ll let you guess who the NIL people negotiated with for Jimmy to get that million
What a slam dunk decision so far. CU is getting millions of eyeballs every weekend and Shedeur is incredible.
I love that you still find this hysterical and are oblivious to what is really going on in the NIL. I've seen the contracts first hand and how it works. You just dont want to believe it and want to bury your head in the sand.
In the first two games I've been sold on our skill guys. TMC has 10x the tools he ever had at USF. I think he grows into a solid starter this year.
JRP played well obviously but he was bound to get hurt. We all said it. Between his first 2 games we all still saw some areas for improvement with decisions. Ultimately I think it’s more likely he would be inconsistent through the season and I wouldn’t assume he would have kept up the Boise performance. But who knows. I’m not as worried from a football standpoint even though it sucks from a human standpoint.
I'm pretty confident in saying that JRP is done for the season, so we start the Timmy era. I really hope he gets the start against Villanova and never lets go of QB1. I get the sense he might be more a game day QB rather than a practice guy. We'll see. I suspect Hinshaw probably prefers Timmy's skill set when it comes to his ability to throw the ball versus JRP.
Oh, I’m not oblivious at all to money being thrown around. I just think it’s laughable that you think someone like Jimmy Horn is getting a million dollars.
Gus has that blind loyalty, though. If Timmy does awesome I could still see JRP starting when he returns. We’ll see.
JRP not needing surgery for that knee is pretty great, if that's the case. Glad it's not as serious as initially believed.
I still hope that Timmy seizes the starting role for the rest of the season. If he does, that would mean a lot for the type of success he is having. Especially since Gus Bus is all in on JRP.
Friend was waiting for the Gus presser before calling me. JRP knee is no big deal, it's the head the Drs are worried about. Baylor is the earliest we will see him, maybe.
100% JRP will start as soon as he can no matter what Timmy does (and I hope he does well enough that it is a question), but it is JRP's team in the locker-room.
With concussion issues I think he would be advised not to run as much as possible. Even if he gets back to 100% like we all hope. He won't be running too much. But for the really good news, It gives Timmy a chance to show us what he can do against a Nova at home and then a top team in the conference on the road. If the earliest possible timeline is the Baylor game. We will know what TMC can do by then.
It's definitely one of those situations where they seem not to like us a lot more than we don't like them.
Shirt is pretty funny to me. But yeah I think the whole we were good for 15 years and still no one cares vs UCF that had a nice 10 year run after them and gets to join the B12 makes them upset.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they make those shirts for every game kind of like the Beat _____ buttons everyone makes.
JRP posting a lot on Twitter. I feel like his injury is fairly minor, or he feels fine but is doing the required concussion protocol.
