My phone battery died at like 2pm which was probably good because I had a lot to say during that garbage fire but now I’ll just say this. I'm done with Gus, I'm done with KJ, Im done with Terry. Im selling the rest of my tickets this year and not renewing next year. Im not giving more money to watch a washed up coach calling a 20 year old HS offense with a full back as the starting QB. I’d rather pour gas on that money and light it on fire, at least then I’d have something more interesting to watch with the fire
I thought fucking Kirkland brand scam newton cost us only like $350k. If we paid him a million we need to cancel that check
idk man, I’m just glad my 1st child will be born in the next few weeks and I don’t have to watch this terrible team
bad news: they sleep a ton and you’ll never have more time as a dad to watch football than this season.
I hope this is the one fluke Gus win a year. We are gonna do 6-6 bowl season again but I'll take a gator win at least. Colorado has some star players but also started playing great on all sides of the ball this game. Florida I don't think can do that and doesn't have that star power at the moment. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope not.
At this point I'd take a shot that Frost cleaned himself up and learned and wants to just find a ton of fast dudes again.
I’ll just settle for any semblance of a real quarterback and a competent offense. We’re on year 3 of trotting out a fullback masquerading as a quarterback. You can’t expect to win with an 80% rushing attack, especially not with a dog shit defense. I’m with Chan on the reset. Vote of no confidence for the entire BoT and start over.
It’s all a matter of fit. We all saw the Nebraska failure coming. But if he took the UF job I’d bet he’d still be there.
I heavily doubt that. He can run an offense but not a program long term. Like, you can’t not give a shit about defense in the SEC.
Frost had a generational talent at QB that was also a winner. So many of those games we had to come back from to win even with him. I’d like to see him do something without Milton to actually believe in him.
Hey I’m all for giving him another shot. I just don’t think you can discount what Milton did for him.
Our teams lacked everything that makes a team win. Bad defense, bad special teams, undisciplined with penalties and the worst turnover margin in CFB. Rhule has largely fixed 3/4 of those in a year and a half. Frost is an OC and can win with a talent like Milton or maybe in a more wide open league (I still doubt it). He’s really a great value Lincoln Riley.
I also worry Frost isn’t a psychopath you need to be a coach and just live and breathe it. Dude hired his boys and spent a lot of his time at the bar like he worked a 9-5.
But Frost recruited Milton. I am confident he could actually recruit real QBs back to UCF and would put Milton on staff. the most frustrating thing is the Big12 is actually very weak this year
Frost isn’t mature enough to run a program. We got lucky he was only here two seasons and had a generationally talented QB at his disposal. KZ processed the game faster than any QB I’ve seen at the college level. Combined with the athletes we had already? Lightning in a bottle.
Idk what the answer is, but it’s so clear that Gus has to go. The offense has been terrible and he’s coasting on a reputation he built a decade ago. roll the dice on a creative OC. I’d rather lose 63-54 than this bullshit.
the most frustrating part is that everything else about the Program is doing their part to give the Program momentum can’t believe that coaching performance w the energy the fans and campus gave him. Gus continually chokes when the Program has an opportunity and it goes back to the AAC too. He got blown out by ECU when ESPN was begging us to win to give us a College Gameday two years ago
exactly, it’s not just that we are bad. we are boring bad and that’s actually worse because there is a lot more to do around here than just go to games
After yesterday, im more sure that we will win in gainsville. I can already hear those offseason conversations now. old heads: “Fire Gus? With the talent he is recruiting? Plus he beat the Gators IN the swamp last season. this program is rolling with him” sane person: “weren’t we 6-7?”
Yeah but I’m a lot more able to deal with “Awful Politics/Person (but keeps fucking quiet)” over “Awful Politics/Person (spreads his shit about)”
I still need someone to please explain to me why the fuck we gave this asshole a fucking extension. He didn't do a fucking thing to deserve that. That's the real reason this all feels so god damn helpless. We're stuck with this fucking loser for probably what 2 -3 more years. Like even when we struggled we had an exciting brand of football with Frost and Heupel. This shit is garbage to watch on both sides of the ball. It's not even remotely entertaining, and it's going to get worse when RJ leaves
Given what frost inherited and then added to, I’m still bullish on the idea. Ucf got an actual identity from that. Outside of frost and heupel our existence has been defined by George o Leary and Gus malzahn. UCF social media is only a thing because of the style frost brought in. and maybe he was immature. Sure ok. But a person can grow out of that from experience. And I just can’t look at the Nebraska experience as something that would mean he couldn’t be successful in the south again. Just bring that offensive style back and let guys be dudes. and maybe he gets lucky. But that’s all it takes. Recruits aren’t rational. They want vibes and money. He can bring the vibes.
It's a horrible idea and we can agree to disagree. He was a fucking disaster at Nebraska and I want no part of that shit coming back here. We can and should attempt to do better. There's a hotshot OC at some school that would love to take over this program. The Malzhan hire was a horrible idea and it went away from what was a successful hiring process to something boring that made no fucking sense. We need to go back to the original formula when we hired Frost and Heupel. Malzhan didn't learn a fucking thing from Auburn and it shows, we don't need to take that chance with Frost. It's not worth it and could potentially kill the program
We can agree to disagree. That’s fine. I just want the style back and to me if the guy who brought he style here is available and motivated again (no idea if he is) then I’d be excited for it. I also don’t keep up with who the hot OCs out there are.
