Vols also paid $500K for his buyout.
I don’t understand it all, tbqh
I don't get why Pruitt wanted him so badly.
I don’t either.
You’d think he’s Sean Mcvey with the way Vols are hyping it.
As long as we don’t lose Pittman, I don’t give a shit.
They were so desperate after what 45 days of a OC search that they could hire a monkey and they’d be excited
They thought they were making some big statement taking our OC. Saw guys on volnation talking about how much damage it does to our program.
Yea I guess.
Chaney is a solid hire for Pruitt, I think. He needs some continuity moving forward, and I don’t think many would to try to hire him away or offer him a HC position. Having a decent coordinator with that security has some value, even if it’s kind of a backhanded compliment.
I would be really happy about Eddie Gran going to Georgia
But mostly because we're going to lose to Georgia either way and fuck Kentucky.
6-6 sounds pretty incredible for Arkansas
I’m surprised it took this long for Tennessee to find an OC, defensive minded HC so you’d imagine he’d allow his OC free reign to run his offense
Unless Pruitt is just a giant prick to work for and that scared off candidates
I think he did a good job for what was available to him. Shit QB and WRs (with exception to Bowden, who is a star), but a really strong offensive line + Benny Snell. Defense was also one of the best Kentucky ever had. The offense wasn't pretty, but 10 wins for Kentucky is quite an accomplishment.
ATHENS - Georgia coach Kirby Smart has talked with at least one SEC coordinator about the offensive opening at UGA.
Sources tell Dawg Post that Kirby spoke with Kentucky offensive coordinator Eddie Gran of late about the position. Georgia’s offensive coordinator spot came open on Tuesday when Jim Chaney left Athens for the same spot at Tennessee.
Gran has been in coaching for more than three decades. In that time he worked with James Coley while the duo were at Florida State from 2010-12.
1.6 for Chaney?
Pretty incredible that Tennessee is going to pay $1.6 million to allow Georgia to upgrade at OC and its recruiting staff and quite possibly get worse at OC.
It's just like when Louisville paid a fuck ton of money to take Grantham and let us hire Pruitt.
two times devine. it was two times they almost had a dynasty.
Im pretty sure Tennessee is allowing their Athletic Director to participate in practices/coaching
Fulmer-Pruitt show seems like a blend of meat heads and good ole boy network. Not an ideal situation.
Everything Ive seen from him screams: Highest Paid Offensive Assistant in College
Tennessee just wants to stay broke and average. Imagine paying Chaney’s fat ass 1.6 million when you’ve already experienced how frustratingly average and stupid he is once before.
Silly me he he
$1.4 MILLION for Pep Hamilton?!
Eddie Gran had good moments but often times he was a dumbass. He'd inexcusably go like several drives in a row without handing off the ball to Benny Snell. Went to overtime against Texas A&M this year and Benny Snell never touched the ball. He'd run the ball in obvious passing situations or pass in obvious run situations. He'd get too cute with his playcalling at times. Had an awesome pass catching TE in CJ Conrad and would rarely ever get him involved in the offense even though really good things seemed to happen almost every time he touched the ball. Would run the Wildcat with the QB out wide with several other WRs and I can only remember once where they ever threatened to do anything other than run the ball. Would stubbornly run the ball even when teams were packing it in, which obviously rarely ever worked. And as Lynn Bowden showed near the end of the season, he was a very dynamic playmaker, especially when you get him in space, but he was not involved nearly as much as he should have been.
This team's long stretches of being completely incompetent on offense with the talent they have was inexcusable. Maybe it was Stoops being overbearing, maybe Gran just lost it after leaving Cincinnati. I have no way of knowing. I just know we didn't get what we thought we were going to get.
He wasn't the most consistent player in the world, but he had some very good games. They mostly never really gave him a chance though.
What about your OL? Was it good?
Eddie Gran... lol
Yes. Bunchy Stallngs particularly was a stud - AP All-American and consensus First-Team All-SEC. Had quite a few injuries but still was pretty good for the most part. Fell apart a bit towards the end of the regular season but recovered in the bowl game, so I am assuming lack of depth forcing guys to play more snaps than they probably should have been tired them out some and the break before the bowl allowed them to recover.
Forgot about stallings, yea he was a good one.
It's not going to happen because Kirby is more competent than this, but Coley as OC with Tosh at DC would be some great shit for the rest of us (outside of recruiting the first couple seasons).
idk, I'm pretty anxious rn about these two hires.
Well, on the bright side you guys would sign two classes in the 320 range for your future coordinators.
Perfect timing for Christian Hunnicutt to step down at Grayson.
I think we could potentially offer Tosh a Co-DC title but he's not calling the defense. I think that will be Kirby and Lanning.
No one wants that awful job.
the Georgia fanbase is still dealing with the battered women syndrome from the Richt years, that we dont know what to do with ourselves and think everything is riding on coordinators
instead of just sitting back and trusting that the dude in charge has been calculating his next moves in anticipation of the staff movement.
Pruitt loves him some UGA castoffs if true
I read some quotes from the outgoing coach that were surprisingly candid about the “outside factors” that come with that job. He talking about Kenyatta Watson or is there more to it?
He was so good for Tubs while at Auburn
He's a huge part of it. He's started it all for sure, but now you've got a lot of parents that joined him in his behavior.
Strategically placed stadium in that graphic
Damn. I think they just upgraded if he takes the job.
I think Gran is a good fit for Kirby. He’s just going to run the ball
I would imagine UGA fans would be happy with that
They pushed UF's shit in in that game

What are your reviews on Gran?
