I like your optimism but our offense, and thus the team in general, has some serious red flags from where I'm sitting
They have plenty of red flags too. They’ve had trouble dominating anyone. We’ve won most of our games by three TD’s including the UTenn team Bama struggled with.
Some interesting stats on Pickens: https://blutarsky.wordpress.com/2019/10/26/george-pickens-a-play-in-three-acts/
Really hope we come out motivated. Shouldn't be hard, but with my birthday being Saturday, I really would like to drink for the right reasons that night.
Like always, you are talking out of your ass with no actual knowledge of what you speak. I was there and the weather was horrible. Constant downpour, cold, and windy as shit.
Was basing it on this, but whatevs. Fromm has had multiple other games with 9/12 for 35 yard type stretches. I hope you're right, and this was 100% on the rain.
It was much worse on the field than it looked in the press box. It’s not like Seth was venturing out to get a real feel for things
I had read a couple tweets in a row that formed my opinion. I’ve got no problem deferring to others who were there. Seemed convenient at the time to blame the weather for problems we’ve had all year, but I’m not going to die on this hill. Fromm’s poor performance was due to the rain and wind.
Also, team Fromm has concluded that South Carolina knew our signals and we have decided to blame that as the reason why Fromm played poorly
Regardless, should have been able to expect more than we got in the passing department. Fromm took a major hit from pro scouts in the Kentucky game. There are a lot of outdoor stadiums in the league, and they can’t just mail in a game due to weather, whether it is a justified excuse for impacting throwing greatly, or not.
I wonder how much we even practice in the rain anymore with the IPF. Hard to get used to passing with a soaked ball if you never do it. On the other hand, it's kind of a waste of time to do it a lot because of maybe 1 rain game per year.
Also, I’d really love to do what Florida did to us a million times in the 90s and 2000s - look like butt leading up to the WLOCP and then come out like gangbusters breaking all prior tendencies and making the opposing defense look completely unprepared. That would be such a boost for the back half of our schedule.
Fromm is late on his reads and throwing behind his targets no matter the weather. But Seth Emerson has mailed it in and provides even more empty insight and analysis and reporting than when he was at the AJC. Which is a shame bc he was great when he first got to the Macon Telegraph after leaving the USCe beat. All the high brow window dressing but says nothing of import or reliable value.
He has a solid story on Grantham sucking against us this morning. I think he and Weiszer are by far the best beat writers we have.
I feel like this is only a last two games thing. We were all over his nuts for the throws he was making prior to SC.
Didn’t even know the xfl (ha) draft happened. UGA players drafted: Aaron Murray Orson Charles Trenton Thompson (6th overall pick of DL/LBers) Garrison Smith Toby Johnson Non UGA blasts from the past drafted: Landry Jones - OU Cardale Jones - OSU Connor Cook - Mich St Christine Michael - Tamu Elijah Hood - UNC Sammie Coates - AU Cameron Artis-Payne - AU Keenan Reynolds - Navy Matt Jones - UF Cyrus Kouandjio - Bammer James Vaughters - Stanford Will Hill - UF Matt Elam - UF
I've decided to boycott Notre Dame football as long as Ian Book is the QB. I'd like to petition this board to be an honorary Georgia fan until such time as Book is gone.
I'm a glutton for punishment. If football sucks, and it does, I might as well be able to think about women I saw in Athens.
I would strongly advise you to delay such a rash decision until you see what team shows up Saturday in Jax. you may want to shop around a little more...
Current weather forecast for Saturday in Jax is high of 69 low of 49 with a 40% of rain in the morning. I hope Fromm practices with some wet balls this week just in case.
I doubt that would work against UF. After the game Fromm said he was having trouble with the wet ball. Just hoping we get him a little more comfortable with it in case we get rain again.
looks like a shower today and one a few hours before kick are predicted. we've gotten 2+ inches down here this week already. field may not be in excellent shape
Beck has really turned it on of late - 15 TD's/1 Int in his last six games. Has shown good mobility too. Will be interesting to see what he does in the playoffs. Maybe we are okay there.
I think he is fine- my son goes to that school and i have seen most of the games. The team is dog shit for the most part, he was the only returning starter from last year on offense. I think all the receivers got scholarship offers last year and these new ones are not going to get any.
