Chef David Chang’s show on Netflix he travels around focusing a different food and seeing the variety of ways it is made. I just watched episode 1 which was about Pizza and really enjoyed it.
Watched the Houston crawfish episode and it’s awesome. It was one of the things that struck me about the city when I lived there. The fusion in the cuisine was amazing. I come from an area in Arkansas with a high Vietnamese and Laotian population so when I lived there it was amazing to have so many good restaurants but places like Crawfish and Noodles and LA Crawfish were just so weird at first but so good.
On the last episode right now. I love the little skits/videos they did at the start of some of the episodes. Overall, this is easily one of the best food, travel, culture shows in recent memory
Watched Pizza and Chicken so far. Love this show. Next time I am a being shitty and ordering domino's I am going to get that Chang alfredo bacon pizza.
The food looked awesome but the undertones were ridiculous. Basically admitting he doesn’t like the white guys restaurant because they’re white. And pretending like fried chicken was some slave invention that whites appropriated. There’s some truth to what they were talking about but it was way over the top and historically inaccurate (whites made slaves cook them fried chicken when it was brought over by the Scots, who were famous for cooking it that way while the English only roasted and boiled it.)
