Just building leverage for the next election, they may be in a position to pick the PM and would make that contingent upon getting a new referendum
Definite possibility, but if Lib Dems perform anywhere close to as well as they have been in the south lately, Labour isn’t going to need SNP. Will be interesting to watch.
I've seen a Labour, LD, Greens alliance more than anything involving SNP. And given how opposed Scottish Labour is with SNP, I don't really see it. LD and Greens would probably demand an end to first-past-the-post before any alliance though
Yeah, I tend to think Labour allowing a second Indy ref to get into power would kill then with tons of English voters. They’ll do everything they can to avoid it. I think you’re right. Saw an article yesterday that Lib Dems would demand PR, without a referendum, in return for going into coalition or propping up minority Labour.
Tories used to have a reputation for being absolutely brutal in changing their leaders, yet they're going to let a clown cost them all their seats.
Boris is cooked. Caught in another lie covering up what he knew about a serial sex pest that he promoted.
I have, but too many conservative MPs aren't going to willingly lose their seats for him. I've seen a lot of this type stuff today:
This is hilarious. The guy that Johnson appointed as chancellor yesterday is now a part of a cabinet group going to tell him to resign right now.
So there is a point too far for UK conservatives? That's something. Although I assume it's politically motivated rather than a real moral judgment.
They'll change rules and force him out. He isn't going to have a choice. He'll stay as long as he can. This is all he's ever wanted in life.
Yeah, and he's not an asset at all anymore. He has very few true allies. It was always transactional.
He can call an election so is blackmailing the 1922 Committee. You love to see it. Giving power to a comedy tv show panellist who believes in absolutely nothing.
So some geezer name Gove got the sack. And the other Tories were none too chuffed about that. So now there is a bit a row between all the ministers with everyone geggin in to call each other blerts. And it has all gone to bits for Boris Johnson. At least that is my understanding.
I think they’ve given up on “trying to guess what Thomas Jefferson wanted.” And have just started saying “whatever I want is what those guys meant.”
If Priti Patel somehow ends up as PM, America will be quickly surpassed in my “headed towards full on fascism” power rankings by the UK.
