No clue, but they got a snazzy town, decent facilities, and a weak division in the big 10. If a team like Iowa or Northwestern can have somewhat success, there’s no reason Minnesota shouldn’t
Dreamt last night that Fortin got the start Saturday and threw an int on the first play Even my dreams have jumped ship :|
With two surefire losses on deck, I think it'd be nice if we just went ahead and won today, it'd be a show of good faith. Plus I'm not ready for the Pitt streak to end yet. So keep that in mind when you're taking the field today after reading this post.
talked to a guy in a unc shirt in line for coffee in upstate sc. he informed me he’s wanted larry fired for years now. if he hadn’t already ordered and paid, i woulda treated that man to coffee
MILTON THREW FOR 306 BUT HE ADDED 81 YARDS RUSHING AND 3 TDS ON THE GROUND SO ? PASSED FOR 3 TDS SO ? THAT IS 6 TDS YESTERDAY. do you have a rb the quality of singletary ?
last night even though it is ok to say we did not wrap up good . we did fly to the ball . and every game the D is trying to improve to keep up with the O .so ? we will see come temple time ? as I know you are very good at football . you must realize that singletary is a real good back that cuts back extremely well . there-fore that need for the D to play straight up , and not blitz .
They really complete us, loved seeing Dazz break out a bit, new coach will have some nice skill players to play around with
I swear if there are any Fedora apologists saying "I told you so" on IC I will hunt them down and scalp them live. I can't even check right now. That said, nice win.....Go Heels!
GoHeels.com is currently selling lower level virginia t tickets for $4 it is more expensive to go to a unc baseball game than a conference football game
Just saw this thread near the top and was reminiscing on the good ole days when people thought LSU was gonna hire Fedora. Now one of my best UNC alum friends (who is also an LSU fan for family reasons) is advocating UNC hire Les Miles. Good times.
the rumor is that south carolina wanted him in 2015 but we gave him that albatross extension to keep him from going and now things are terrible and i would love les miles i dont care how illogical it sounds
One of the fascinating things to me in college football is that I think good players can hide bad coaching (e.g. Trubisky, Marquise). I don't think you see that as much in the NFL.
the difference is striking between the two levels i honestly think quise was the better college qb fit for us. obviously trubisky is the more talented qb at the pro level (albeit that is looking shaky rn). but i honestly think the 2016 team wins 10 games with quise instead of mitch. quise just got it done. again i know i sound illogical for arguing an undrafted guy over the #2 overall pick
Not really. Takes different things to succeed at each level, which is why so many stud college quarterbacks flop in the NFL. College is much more about reacting to what happens and improvising and the NFL is much more game planning and coming in knowing the playbook forwards and backwards. Pros is more Xs and Os and college is more Jimmies and Joes. That's my Sports Radio Take and I'm sticking to it.
I feel like Williams made a bunch of plays in 2015 just by being strong enough to shake off rushers and make plays, whether by scrambling or throwing downfield. Don't think that's a weird take.
don't think we lose to sc with mitch but there is no way we beat GT with him. all the other games probably go the same way (with the exception of the near VT debacle when quise couldnt hold onto the ball). maybe the clemson game is closer we don't lose to duke in 2016 with quise but i doubt we beat pitt and fsu is a toss-up. quise probably beats uga. state game is more competitive with quise. i think he also beats stanford.
Quise was a damn good college QB, was perfect for Fedora's system. Was it Golden or Shannon who completely ignored him during the recruiting process when he all he wanted was a Miami offer? Can't remember, those were dark times. By the way, I expect a dog fight like last year again. Miami cannot run the ball at all.
Not sure on the Quise recruitment, seems like he would've been right in the middle of that transition there Does Perry run well? I think our defense is relatively stout against your general offensive style, running QB's always give us hell though.
quise was a VT lean for the longest time i believe. i want to say they slowplayed him/wanted him to grayshirt or something
I don't necessarily mean designed runs or guys who take the option to scramble as one of their earlier reads, we just routinely get killed by QB's who can make something happen when a passing play breaks down, especially on 3rd down. Jacoby Brissett's a good example who comes to mind.
We beat out VT for Quise and I don't think it was because of him being low on their list. That was a Butch Davis class. Things got a bit hairy after the Marvin Austin tweet and Quise kept visiting VT (maybe an official) but stuck with us. We also beat them out for Landon Turner, Travis Hughes, and Kiaro Holts that year. Might have been others but those were the bigger recruiting battles with the Hokies. Legend has it that neither school would have been in the hunt had Randy Shannon made an offer. I actually believe it as I've met his family and it is chock full of die-hard Cane fans. One relative actually would wear a Canes jersey in the parent section.
Perry looks to have that skillset, as a young kid he might do it too much if anything in limited action so far. Shannon, that's who fucked it up.
cynicism's definitely at an all time high for me, but I'm glad to see I still get genuinely excited for a primetime match up against a ranked team
no and probably not. he's more of a depth guy than someone that is going to be getting planned touches and the like
i would assume so unless he has another cal esque first half (which is entirely possible) tbh i think they both stink and wish we'd just go with fortin to see what we have but that aint happening.
