I’m sure this kid is great and will be but I find it really tough to get excited about potential or even committed guys at this point in the cycle. I start getting pumped when guys sign (especially those who have improved their stock over their senior year). Guess this has been a weird aside into my take on recruiting but I’ve been through too many Jeremiah Bell, Jhay Boyd and Donte Paige moss situations to get too pumped about the future prospects of kids.
I understand that feeling, the way I see it though is you're still more likely to have the higher ranked guys pan out than the 3 stars, and Pryor in particular (I've yet to watch his video just cause) is apparently electric as hell. Also if I didn't have the desire to follow recruiting as closely as I do then I'd be all team "wait until they sign," but since I do keep up with it it's pretty much impossible not to get hyped over a talent committing, even with the knowledge that it may not be final.
quick google search shows Boyd's 2-5-0 and ranked 210th in the southeast amateur middleweight division, ahh well
