I am a little scared for you guys, elko probably called lea to get some tips on how to defend your offense. Should be a fun game, go unc
it really is a terrible match up for us tbh, similar defensive philosophy with good talent and a qb very much involved in the power run game fuck em though
I wouldn't worry too much about this game. Just hope we can keep it reasonably close and some of the young guys have some splash plays.
oh I'm definitely in happy to be here mode at this point of the turn around, but the juices are flowing now so I'll be acting irrationally for a bit
We need to see some Elijah Green tonight. Henderson/Brooks don’t have the athleticism needed tonight.
nor do they have the ability to be the guy next year which is what tonight should be: an audition for next year
our rb's of the future are in this incoming class and/or potential transfers I really like both of our '21 guys but I'm riding the Caleb Hood train pretty hard
tbh british looks solid and the line should all be back. it’s not exactly plug and play because mike and javonte are special but we’ll be fine there no worries
man do I love Downs... When I profess my love for this kid a few years from now in the draft thread and some sucker ass Bama fan points to an overrated player on its roster as being better... remember I was with Downs before day 1
like I said I like both of our incoming guys, my being on the Hood train isn't a slight to Edmonds at all, they're actually pretty similar and if Hood hadn't been ranked as a QB or I guess had a senior year to put on tape after making it known he was switching they'd have been ranked similarly imo
Great game guys. Howell is special. Mack is a great coach and seems like you have a very talented staff. Beat Clemson in the ACC championship next year please.
also, I know he had a pretty bad drop tonight, but I look forward to Khafre sliding into his brother's spot next year, Green was basically invisible tonight outside of his back peddling attempt in the red zone
it's like a weird mixture of excitement over the trajectory but also regret because winning an ny6 is a realistic ceiling for this program and there aren't any guarantees we'll be back
I promise I won’t linger ITT, but I think you’ll be back. I don’t know your depth chart, who’s graduating and coming in, but Howell is quite possibly the best QB in the game next year, and Mack is a great coach and a fantastic motivator. If not next year, then some time before Mack hangs it up, you’ll be back.
that's the expectation for sure, it's just tough definitively saying the mediocre program I've known my whole life will reach a certain standard
looking ahead to our schedule next year, we've got a rebuilding ND and Wake ooc and then FSU's our second cross-divisional opponent, sets up rather nicely
Mack’s PC today is a master class on how to turn a program around. Incredible anyone would think to overlook hiring a coach who previously won a National Championship, especially given how few of them exist anymore.
I understood people's hesitancy when he was hired given his age and the way things started unraveling at Texas (although I imagine a lot of it was also just the byproduct of our hot take culture now). Since day 1 he's been open and honest about why things fell apart at Texas and it's obvious now the time off provided a great recharge. At the very least I figured it was a safe hire as he'd energize an increasingly apathetic fan base and recruit well for whoever came after, but so far every single thing down to the smallest detail has just been on a completely different level than I could've ever imagined.
also what we've seen with strong and herman there has made what mack did at texas even more impressive despite the lackluster end to his run
I’ll always stand by the fact that Chizik and Orgeron had anomaly seasons that weren’t sustainable, so add that modifier to my comment however you see fit.
there seems to be some smoke that the #1 OT in '22 is committing tonight and we're a strong possibility if he is
Mack took over NC recruiting last year and it looks like we are going after VA hard this year. It is so fun to be relevant year round again.
ended up being a top 3 of UNC/ND/OSU 530 chimed in afterwards saying he's confident he'll be a Heel soon and also the staff was shocked over the amount of kids reaching out about transferring in
Most interesting stat of the season, this year's team had the most sacks (36) than any UNC team since 2000. Pretty shocked that none of Butch's teams had more than that.
was floored when I heard that from Mack's presser, guess it makes sense given how much we blitz, but it certainly didn't feel like we were in the backfield that often until later in the year
every game it gets down to the under 8/under 4 of the first half and I'm just dumfounded by our point totals
I really did not think I’d hate a team more than last years suck fest but these fellas are getting close. that two on two fast break elbow pull up from #2 just about did it.
RJ just looks like a freshman to me, Caleb looks like he's malfunctioning just bringing the ball up the court
last year’s team at least seemed like they gave a shit. they sucked but at least they tried. this team sucks and just seems to go through the motions i hate them
man I spent all summer talking about how this was the most offensively gifted class Roy's ever brought in basically don't ever listen to me
