UCLA always seemed like a New Balance school to me
poor Daniel Ocean
Opens the door for some sweet Saucony swag.
I wouldn’t want my brand all over UCLA athletics either
UCLA needs to get one hooked up with Uniqlo or one of those other Asian companies since Larry Scott will have them playing four games a year somewhere in Asia.
Russell Athletic time to get back in the game
Frankly I just assumed Nike would come running to get affiliated with Mick Cronin basketball.
Paging Lorenzo Ball!
That’s fucked. Not UCLA’s fault UA over extended themselves.
As a fan of a directional school in a G5 conference, it always blows my mind how programs like UCLA with their location, academics, history, etc can just flounder for seemingly decades.
Is there a reason why they want to back out?
FILA about to make it rain on the Bruins
Looking to partner with a smarter, better-looking public ivy fanbase
THE Ball State University
Have you watched their football and basketball games at any point over the past 15 years?
They apparently called Cal as well
Yeahhhh. Click clack
spurrier should have gotten a Fn Emmy for this
no you are not rite
Can't they just order from an east bay catalog?
I wonder if they are thinking there won’t be sports in the PAC 12 this fall and this is their way to get out of these deals?
Here for the Mick Cronin slander
I mean I still can’t believe UCLA hired that fucking weasel. He probably wasn’t lasting much longer at Cincinnati
Under Armour seemed to be on a positive trajectory a few years ago then those Curry shoes flopped and their founder got outed as a Trump fanboy and now it's gone
they make incredible cold weather gear but I dunno what else they do well after nearly 25 years of them being on my radar
TIL that Mick Cronin coaches UCLA basketball
this but unironically given the academics-fueled reputation UCLA and Berkeley have in China
this nerd called for his team to intentionally foul down the stretch against UNC this year then cried in the postgame about how UCLA was called for more fouls in the second half when the discrepancy was completely due to said intentional fouls
was pretty wild
The hills are rampant with rumors of Zides interest in a west coast expansion.
I sometimes forget we started on rivals and then a thread like this reminds me. UCLA will be fine. Lawyers will get involved and a buyout will be paid. We will sign another shoe deal with a major company not because we have had success in revenue sports but because we are a world wide brand. Our popularity is because we are a world class academic institution not (obviously) because of football and basketball. If UCLA never played a game ever again it would have zero impact on my degrees. So thanks for the heartfelt concern but we will be fine.
As far as Cronin we had a fucking pos scum bag coach who I hated so I was glad to have him fired and hiring anyone was an upgrade on coaching and in just being a decent human.
Signing with UA instead of Nike is another reason o am glad we are got a new AD.
Worldwide brand lol. I bet UCLA isnt top 20 in international sales.
have you ever been to Beijing and counted the hats?
Only Hong Kong but Beijing is on my list.
UCLA was 31st in Hong Kong, btw.
31 on a list on millions ain’t bad.
You forgot #publicivy
world class academic institution superseded public ivy for the sake of this discussion.
No but I have been arrested in Hangzhou for shoplifting. A heavy UCLA presence there too
In my non-lawyer brain, I don’t feel like it works that way.
I want to end my relationship with my landlord as I don’t feel I’m getting the benefits out of my house than I am paying.
This is what reminds me we came from Rivals.
This is how
You remind me
Believe it or not, Champion is making a comeback. The kids like it.
you remind me I originally started on scout
Does your rental contract have a clause to do so? That seems to be what they're arguing. You'd think a big organization wouldn't make a $300 million decision without at least a decent argument.
